His multiple AA's & BnF's along with his MVP award disagree with you.

Despite what jargon the media throw around, there's still plenty of room in the comp for contested specialists.

Hopefully he's over his injuries and can get back to his best.
Tom Rockliff 1 x AA 2 X BNF
Patrick Cripps 2 x AA 3 X BNF

If Rockliff was at a big Melbourne club and Cripps was at Brisbane in the early 2010s it would be no different. There is room for contested specialists nut if they cant kick which cripps cant they're not that usefull

Whether 2 games in enough to lock Kemp into the best 22.

I was very clear?
The good news for you and your boys is that each year Carlton are showing they have the most delusional fans in the comp. Their list has no substance no depth and the top end talent really isn't that good (Individually Walsh and McKay couldn't do much more yet you only won 8 games and came 13th)

You're kinda shooting yourself in the foot here. We only had 3 players play to their abilities in 2021 and we still won 8 games. Imagine if some others decide to step up?

Supporters having high expectations about their team, nothing new. But most are balanced as to where we have been as a side over the rebuild

He had 19 touches over 2 games not exactly setting the world on fire

Rolling out averages after 2 games ?

Playing as a 3rd tall back, coming off 2 years of injuries. Easton Wood averaged 2 more touches a game over the last 2 years in a similar role.

Think he has enough talent and time to improve

Easton Wood pinged his hamstring in the 1st quater about 5 times over the last 2 years not sure what youre going for here

How your best players are already peaking and youve got no substance to back them up?

I think some players underperformed/were injured this year - they've shown to be much better than their 2021 performance.

Curnow, Williams, Saad, Fisher, McGovern, Newman, Martin.

Then younger players/1st rounders who should improve like Dow, Stocker & Kemp. Add in Cerra and Hewett now.

I wouldn't say that's no substance.

No. This is the context in which we were discussing it.

You know me and Foxman98 are different posters yeah?
i know. One of the quotes was residue cache from a previous response I started to write then got distracted; it’s a pain when that happens

Well he’s going to start in the vast majority of games pending injury or a form slump congruent with his experience.

2020 was a write off due to his ACL, he then did a syndesmosis injury over the pre-season in 2021 and wasn’t available for selection until over the halfway mark of the year, but we’re going to be pumping games into him.

Great talent.

Perhaps you should familiarise yourself with TOG, which takes into account players going off in the 1st qtr, 5 times over 2 years.

Playing similar roles, their disposals aren't that dissimilar

What have Carlton done recently (or in the last 20 years) that convinces you that they will break out this year?
That's been done to death. Got any original thoughts?

The reasons why have been pointed out by many (including some level-headed neutrals), but the "lol nah" types just ignore that and fall back on the old "Carlton have been crap forever, therefore they will continue to be crap forever".
It must be hard work being that lazy.
