Fully expect the expected.

Get blown out in first 5 minutes.
Work hardery for many more inside 50s for many more points than goals.
Get within manageable margin and then concede easy over the back goals to finally go down by around 6 goals.

It is a tough competition, didnt work hardery for longery, we still expect to wn, Brisbane a very good side etc etc

Lol i hope he gets asked about oppenheimer in the presser just to see him get mad

I would say it's time to go to war but given the outrage generated by the players taking a message out of the film Oppenheimer I guess that's insensitive.

I hope we smash them like guitars (apologies to Fender lovers out there, don't mean to be insensitive) because I'm sick of hearing how Brisbane are apparently invincible on a 200m x 130m oval of grass in their home city, and that we apparently don't even exist in this finals series.

We've proven people wrong all year, time to do it again.
I'm only slightly peeved by the fact that, for 2 nights in a row, Fox Sports News has mentioned how much this means to the Lions blah, blah, and then the announcer says, "Meanwhile, their opponents......" - without actually saying who Brisbane are playing.....

Given 23 games of exposed form and the recent history of both these clubs in big games at the pointy end, absolutely no result on a spectrum of ‘Port by 30’ to ‘Brisbane by 80’ would surprise me.

If we can beat them with Ken in the box. we can definitely beat them with Ken out of the box.

There's a lot saying we've changed a bit and the underdog/away status is to our benefit, but I think Brisbane has too. I don't know if they're flag material, but I cannot see them choking the first home final.

Might be close.

It will come down to our team making the most of the midfield if they have momentum, or their team making the most of their KPP if they're winning their contests.

Danniher could be the difference but we have the midfield to restrict supply.

You would think if this Brisbane side hasn't developed a bit of a steely resolve after multiple finals failures they never will.

its literally the finals piss blasters vs. the finals piss blasters.

The world is gonna end. Time to find out who shits the bed the most.

Tim Lane, at the start of the 2004 grand final:

The two best teams of the era finally face off in a grand final

Everyone else, 2023: the two flakiest teams in finals finally face off to see who the biggest chokers are!

Different eras and teams have improved away records across the board, but their recent Gabba finals record is quite a jolt, especially given they’re practically invincible in the minor round,

BL Gabba Finals

• 1996-2009: 12-0
• 2019-Pres: 2-4

BL Gabba Minor Round

• 2019-Pres: 48-4

The biggest reason I think Brisbane win tonight is it's the logical time for them to finally stand up & win two finals at the GABBA.

*Of course none of this would be an issue if old mate could've conjured up 1 lousy win in that 4 block drop off.
