Is it? Had a good draw and got found out against Sydney in the finals.

Teams like hawthorn who get in the premiership zone go out and get players that will make them the difference between making finals and winning premierships. Need a key back go out and get lake, need a running defender go out and get Burgoyne, need a ruckman go out and get McEvoy and pay fairly while you are at it.

True, but they paid well below what you're suggesting for Gibbs for any of those players.

Not always true. Even less so with contracted players. I remember a contracted Andrew Walker nominating the Crows and them trying to low ball Carlton after over spending on Tambling. The Blues walked away and the "disgruntled" Walker went on to kick 50+ goals the next season & play out his career there.

Don't rewrite history.

Walker nominated the Crows, Carlton tried to play hardball and the Crows moved on to Richmond and Tambling.

Getting an end of first rounder for Walker would have been worth it for Carlton.

Adelaide had the 2nd hardest draw fool.

How do you figure that, only had to play hawks dogs swans and gws once each, double ups against a bottom 4 side Freo and another basket case in port. Definately was not 2nd hardest

That's unrealistic. That is more that Collingwood paid for Treloar.

If you don't want him to leave, fine.

If he's leaving, we'll certainly pay a fair price. And it seems like the going price for a very good, late career mid is a first and a second.

Any other examples that contradict this?

Didn't Collingwood pay #7 and a future first that ended up being #7 and got a 2nd rounder back?

Seems people keep rating first rounders the same.

Collingwood paid Pick 7 and a future first rounder which became Pick 7.

I thought this was going to be somewhat straightforward. But this one is going to drag out and the vibe from the club is they're going to hold the line and see who blinks first. The problem here is Blues are not going to blink due to Bryce's current long term contract.

Crows need to offer something more than pick 13 and 2017 2nd round pick or they need to walk away from this trade, I think this is how I am reading it now.

You traded your first for tambling very early in that trade period and then offered us peanuts for walker which we rightly told you to piss off with.

So you want the equivalent of the Dangerfield/Beams trade for a 28 year old Gibbs?

delusional

Whatever the rate may be - Bryce is under contract and this is the sticking point.

I think the Blues would believe they would be able to get pick 13 + 2017 2nd round pick if this was his final year, but due to his contract they now would need more. I think Blues would believe Bryce has 5-7 years in him as he is a player that doesnt rely on pace but rather skills and decision making.

Beams was under contract and a fair deal was arranged. People would have said he had 8-9 years in him (now, not so much).

The old trade radio hey?
Which intelligent specimen said that.
Crows are in the box seat. THey can always just say no deal.

Gibbs is no use to carlton, not going to be there for the next flag.

If you want Gibbs, you have to play hardball

Blues will require 1st Rd pick and a player under 22

Tell that to Cam McCarthy and as mentioned ^ Beams

A first and a second isn't crazy. If he was a year or so younger you would have gotten that with relative ease.
You probably will get it if we can find a buyer for Lyons. But you wont get much/any more.
He doesn't want to be there and you need picks and going through a rebuild.
As I have said 1000 times we couldn't get to a flag with Danger, we sure as hell ain't with Gibbs. No point selling the farm.

Then you walk he is a Carlton player and he is not going for a fair deal it seems so get over it.

That is 100% ok with me. I like my picks.
Lever, Milera our recruitment guys arent dunces, we ain't going to burn that pick.

If those are fair deals, what should have we got for Danger? 3 x first rounder? lel
