From the Caulfield persepctive:

They will want to win and yes send a message. However they can't lose top spot and if they had blokes who needed a break, they may decide to rest them. Not sure what Lawrence will do as he is still new to the coaching game. Knowing that they may face Beamauris later in the finals, Caulfield could chose a different forward or middle set up than they might use when it really counts.

From the Sharks persepctive:

They need the win to stay in the hunt for second spot. They are less likely to rest players for this reason, but saying that if Ensor or Gower were very tight would you risk them? Probably not as you need them for the big games in a few weeks. As for set ups, Mifsud is most likely going to stick with what has got them this far, but could experiment with match ups and structure to see what works best against the competition leaders.

Clear enough?

haha you are the biggest joke going around Keano15

Caulfield will annihilate Beaumaris if they play anywhere near the level they have been performing at throughout the year.

MHSOB and Oakleigh are both better outfits than the Sharks, who rely on a small core of players to perform.

Thanks for trying analyse C Grade amateur football like the AFL

No thanks needed rookie...

We'll see how good High and the Krushers are. I would still bet on a Sharks vs Caulfield final, with yes the Fields getting across the line.

I assume you meant MHSOB when you said they rely on a small group of players!

PS. I have plenty of work yet to do if I am truly to be considered a bigger joke than Johnny Aitken. Put I promise to keep working on it!

Top 4 locked in, Oakleigh v Beaumaris First Semi, MHSOB v Caulfield Second Semi.

Potential for resting players next week?

Maybe not for Oakleigh who would be keen not to mess with their stellar form of late.

I think Beauy will play Caulfield in the granny but it will be a very intersting finals series with all of the teams looking very evenly placed, but Caulfield obviously the pic of the bunch

If beauy want the extra edge needed to succeed in the finals they should get the senior group to follow the example of their 2s star players B Strong and J Coleman whose dietary regime is second to none, Ive managed to land my hands on thier dieticians notes...

Friday- 1 BB burger 2 potato cakes and minimum chips and just the quiet 12 beers,
Saturday- pie, 25 beers, 10 Canadian Clubs, Shark Burger, Archies, & a 7 eleven hotdog
Sunday - bacon and eggs, KFC ultimate burger meal upsized, 15 beers, pizza and a few CCs to round out the weekend

Interesting choice that one. A bit like Kevin Sheedy coming back and coaching Casey Scorpions.

Best of luck to AJAX under Bernie's wise tutleage.

Looks as though it will be a huge final series. Any one of the 4 can go to 'B' grade on their day.
To me it will be a Caulfield Vs MHSOB grandfinal.
I think Oakleigh will get past Beauy. I think they are a little stronger over the ball and have some impact players that can turn a game in a 2nd...Bromley the standout (oh he kicked 9 on the weekend).
All games last weekend went according to plan. The ladder now looks as tho nothing can really change. Top 4 are done and bottom 2 are done as well.
Biggest dissappointment for the year - Monash Blues. Expected more from their midfield and improved fitness in the off season but their skills were very very ordinary.
Biggest improvement of the year - Caulfield. They were relegated last year but have turned their club around substantially.
Worst supporters - Got to be Oakleigh. They love giving to the opposition players but thats apart of football and is why it is so dfficult to win out there.
Best player for the year - J 'The Engine' Rutter / R McIntyre - both had dominant displays in the guts.
Worst "C" grade thread writer - Keano 15. He has little idea what he is talking about.
Best coach - Steve Lawrence. Going on perfomance alone. Having said that I think Mifsud has done very well to get his players to where they are today.
Gents goodluck for the last game this weekend and for those teams finishing this weekend enjoy the Mad Monday festivities.

It must really hurt admitting that Lawrence and Caulfield have done well....and while I am on a roll High will go out in straight sets, while the Sharks will scrape across the line against the Krushers.

It certainly doesnt hurt Keano_15. Unlike you I keep a level of unbiased professionalism within this forum. I say it as it is.

Having said that your comments are interesting. Certainly not taking any notice of them as your predictions this year have been of a man following netball all his life!

Professionalism??? This is a chat forum precious!

Interesting choice of words though, almost would have thought you were a scribe!

PS. Vixens back to back in 2010!

i think you'll find 1vs2 will play the sat game as they have earned the extra day of rest, for the loser will play the following sat the winner of 3 v 4.
Interesting to see tribunal results this week as i believe the ajax umpire escort was reported several times on sat for abuse and also striking of the umpire. Quite comical by the sounds of things but with recent ugly incidents such as the essendon and district league on the weekend, i think the vafa will keep this bloke out of an official role for quite a while.

Interesting to see what the Nodder supporters think on this one - they've played Caulfield, Oakleigh and High in the last 3 weeks.

That's ridiculous! Surely an umpire is meant to feel safe being escorted from the field! Well done on the Jackers if this is true!!!

As for Driftwood, cheap little comments made once in a blue moon is pathetic. Add some substance to this forum! Give us something!!!!!

I rate the teams in this order:
MHSOB
Caulfield
Oakleigh

Melbourne High's pressure is second to none. They play hard man on man football which brings all C-Grade teams undone. They rely on teams to make mistakes and then they pounce. I feel we can match it with Caulfield & Oakleigh but were never in the game against the High.

But having said that, I think Caulfield are the best equipped to play in B-Grade next year. Not sure how the Highs game plan will stand up against the B-Grade sides though. Sounds dumb doesn't it.

The High will win the flag - except if McIntyre gets hit by a bus that is.

It does a bit. Caulfield have beaten them twice this year, and also beaten Beuey twice. The cup is theirs to lose.

I really think the other spot in the Granny is up for grabs. Oakleigh are finishing strong though and this week's matchup between MHSOB and Oakleigh will be interesting, some Beauy scouts might head to Scammell to do their homework with 3rd place wrapped up. Maybe they'll bring the trailer.

McIntyre vs a Bus might be a fair fight, certainly no foregone conclusion.

Biggest dissappointment for the year - paying $5.60 for a hotdog at Beauy - a few ppl knocked the scribe for that call but hutchy would best describe it as a 'good call, a brave call gary'
Biggest improvement of the year - Caulfield were relegated, but they did come down from a strong b grade, mhsob has improved considerably to be challenging for promotion.
Worst Supporters - Clearly Ajax.....i do not need to explain that one at all
Best player for the year - R. McIntyre - watched him step out for both rep sides - particularly impressive performance in the a grade side.
Worst "C" grade thread writer - pass on this one.
Best coach -steve lawrence, coaching the dominate team.

Looking forward to Aitkens last write up, hopefully will throw caution to the wind....and got to give the scribe a wrap, made the c grade read more interesting than it has ever been, played him a few rounds back and he takes it all in good humour, maybe a few blokes should lighten up....

Biggest dissappointment for the year: the beauy stats van with voice recording technology and microsoft excel. bad call gary.

Biggest improvement of the year: nick bogars 4km time trial. has halved since early pre-season and is now sitting a tick under 40 mins.

Worst Supporters: ajax to their own when their down.

Best player for the year: big mac from the high - the man who cant be moved. also haynes from beauy.

Best coach: warren fall.

As we get into the last round before finals, surely Big Johnny Aitken should be thinking Team of the Year. Does anyone want to start having a crack at putting one together. I only get to watch Beauy games, yet missed on the weekend, but have seen all sides this year and would think it will be dominated by the top 3-4 sides. There is always the token rep from the lower finishing sides, but i am not sure there should be any from Monash or Bulleen. I don't know enough other players than beauy to put one together myself - so good luck.
My perosnal thoughts reading Johnny's stuff is that he is quite on the money, light hearted and entertaining, yet knows his stuff. Much better read than some of those past scribes. Give the guy a break. Therefore his team of the year will no doubt be thoroughly thought out.
And his column on the canteen prices was spot on. I am sick of spending $20+ on the canteen at half time (2's and Seniors).

MHSOB gameplan merely consisted of tapping the ball out of the ruck to the 12 O'clock position and having 3 on ballers run on to it. If the opposition sweeper does his job he can stop that. Fair enough they have a ruck man who can do that, but if you stop the on ballers they cant get the ball forward then. This tactic is especially effective on the postage stamp ground at the school.

Then play a dominant CHF and play through him to stop their CHB from floating off.

I dont have anything against MHSOB just my observations from the way they play.

So mhsob use there ruckman to feed the ball to their onballers? And to stop this all someone has to do is shut down their onballers? Innovative call hutchy.....surely noone has ever thought of such a tactic in football before....

And then just play a dominant CHF...sure...why not...not hard to find one...
Surely you came close to the nth melbourne job with innovative thoughts like these....

good call eddie...

just one quick question for the forum... does anybody know why Oakleigh have the name the Krushers with a 'K'... is it a poor attempt at alliteration or do the majority of their supports think crush is spelt with a 'K'?

for me, Beauy and Caufield are to get promoted... hope mhsob don't get promoted as Johnny 'm' Aitken is the only decent scribe going around... the only issue here is that the average C grade amatuer supporter may not have the intellectual capability to enjoy his sharp wit...

Nodders for the 2010 C grade flag...

Youd think so but Brad Scott got it first, the only other dumb**** assistant from collingwood who wasnt in the succession plan,
However, there are quite a lot of ******ed teams in the comp and players out there. You could be one of them.

What i was pointing out in my post was the spot to which Mcintyre hits the ball. He never wavers from this hit zone, and is 1980's tactics.
Then Midfielders run forward of the ruck contest. Quite ingenious if they weren't *******s.

Also what i was saying with regards to the CHF was for the opposition, as if you can make J. Richmond accountable he'll get beaten physically.

To be honest, sick of all this talk about McIntyre, the guy is past it...has grandfather biceps like Sam Newman and will not fire come finals.

Caulfield are the team to beat for mine and look like dominating the first semi-final against MHSOB.

Beauy will go out in the first round and have the rest of the year to think about whether to import Nurnberger Bratwursts from Germany or sell Don's local goods at the genuinely inflated prices that are a hot topic of conversation. My tip is on local snags with no import tariffs to maintain their margins...also, little chance of getting a cultured snag south of sandy and so close to Jetty Surf Southland.

John Aitken is not half bad, if he could play anywhere near as well as he writes the MHSOB 2's might win a game.
