Yes mobby ****. The OC boys were unimpressed with the state of your rooms away rooms to. So most likely need to pass it on.
On more news. Lowey is back this week for the boys and kaney batzloff will play after a sizable absence. Add to this the two time premiership skipper on debut and loats in g square. Tigers will have the most concerns going into a game that they have had all year this week. Add the fantastic state of the ground that we play on and its the OC boys on the way. As I said.....jump on now cause we are nearly full.
Will be able to cater for Sam Anstey too with the most annoying tagger in the comp.

Love to everyone

1997 - VAFA A Section : Collegians finished 4th.
1998-2000 - VAFA ? Section : Collegians participated.
2001 - VAFA C Section First Semi-Final : Glen Eira defeated Collegians.

Hot off the press. All VAFA clubs senior coaches & presidents have been asked to sign affadavits regarding the "amateur status" of all players. Have the folks down at HQ got some ladder changing surprises in store??

Are we gonna get more info already or do we have to wait 3 days like Jesus did? :p

Thats funny, ran into Kane in Mentone this week, he told me he had know interest in playing footy for OC!!

Think you should stop talking **** ES (You are starting to sound like Red Roy) and get ready to be pumped by plenty............

he told me he had know interest in playing footy for OC!!

Great use of grammar!!!!!! Typical of you ferals down there. Very basic english skills.
That is all
ES
P.S we seem to be having trouble with the hot water system in the away rooms at present and can't see us fixing it this week. Chin up. Bring your hot water bottles:D

Mobbe,

Can confirm that all clubs have received the affadavits to sign but this I understand is part of the VAFA's new requirements, given the old reinstatement rules were abolished and that the VAFA hierachy were going to more vigilant on clubs ensuring that players are ' true amateurs'.

ES,

I reckon you are about as close to the OC's info as Roy is to the Red's chances of making the finals...next thing you'll tell us that Ian Thorpe is swimming on the half bank flank for the OC's and Jennifer Hawkins is going to hand wash the Tigers BOG player post match....give it up..it isn't working!

Sorry, seems I didn't do Everyday spelling or grammer you Eastern Suburbs W a n k er!! Ferals maybe, playing finals definately..........

Maybe you guys should spend your time looking after the players the care about your s h itful club, rather than blokes who couldn't care less i.e. Kane, Loats etc etc..........

Hopefully I see ya Saturday, so I can ram that silverspoon right up your backside!!!!

Well I was playing it down, there actually is some chance of the Reds beating Ormond and therefore I'm putting them down for anything between 1 and 3 wins (well actually, 0 and 4!), but went with a moderate from-adjusted outpan.

PS Tigers folks : If there were actually concerns re away rooms at Brunny St, do you know if that was brought up between the two clubs? As the Reds would surely love to know of these concerns and I know they'll act on them as far as they are able. If nothing's been brought up officially, I can always send a hint over in an unofficial capacity, if yers want to pass me the details.
If they can't see it for themselves than they must need guide dogs over at Brunswick Street!

Nothing new about Afadivits being required. Has beent he case for years. Probably new administtration at HQ have forgotten to follow it up earlier. Normally done prior to first game.

Ok so I get my facts right, have any of the sides to go up last 3 years to B grade come back down, time flys when you're haveing fun ,didnt think it was 3 years since Colls went up.

Prior to 2006, each new registration had to swear their own affidavit as to their amateur status. It was provided for on the reverse of their registration form.

The new registration forms provided for a simple player acknowledgement that they had been advised by the Club Secretary that they couldn't receive $$$ to play.

This final step requires the executive and coach to confirm, by way of affidavit, that no player on their list has received remuneration for playing in 2006.

Given U19 registrations only closed on 31/7, this last step couldn't be taken until all players had been registered for the season.

I trust that clarifies the matter.

In the past three years the premiers and runners up of C Section have been:

2003 - Beaumaris* def Collegians
2004 - MHSOB def Caulf. Gramm
2005 - Uni Blacks def Beaumaris

* Beaumaris were relegated from B Section in 2004 back to C Section 2005.

Extremely useful post.

Tell me - What current regular senior AFL player under the age of 28 would consider playing with an amateur side 6 weeks short of an AFL finals campaign?? If he was cr@p (which he no longer is), then he'd look at SANFL or VFL options, or the bush for big $$$$ before "lining up for his old school if not drafted".

Clearly he will be picked up by another AFL side if released/sacked.

Next time before you post - insert your brain back in first.

No Sh**t !!! and no doubt he would get picked up from another club. However just remember when he does eventually finish his AFL career watch where he plays and remember where you first heard it.

By the way in response to your statement......What regular senior AFL player under the age of 28 would consider playing with an amateur club (his old school).........I guess Carl Steinfort never shared your views, straight from an AFL Grand Final to B Grade Ammos at age 26....Next time before you post - do your research first.

Nice one Pile............

Settle down their fella's...no point getting worked up over an outside player like BJ who hangs around Port Melbourne night clubs on a Sunday night with the likes of CT looking for a reason....mmmm takes me back to Sundays arvo's/evenings with 'Rocket' Rod Owen at the Wayside in South Melbourne ....ah the memories.

Let's get back on track with selections for Round 15...weather looks like it's on the improve so tracks should be dead to good (stuff the new track ratings system- harder than chinese maths to work out) and there is always some value on the card...

Students (6/4) vs Vultures (Evens)....hard one to work out with Vultures form better in recent times than the Students who were terrible at EP last week..6 day break won't matter cos they didn't turn up anyway...better at Frearson may make this a better contest but maybe the Vultures might get over the line...margin 15 points

Ormond (2/1) vs Ajax (5/4)...cracker match here at the Gunn...Ajax smashed the Blues last Sunday and Ormond did likewise to Parade...double chance at stake here and at home on the smaller Gunn will suit the home team...Ormond need to start well and take it up to the Jackas who may struggle late in the game...Ormond for mine by 11 points

Hampton Rovers (4/5) vs Old Paradians (7/2) like a country 2400m maiden this one...no form to speak of from either team...perhaps Hampton's loss to Ormond two weeks ago suggests they might get over Parade at David Street but Parade have actually won more games away than at home this year...bookmakers are worried as some suggestions of match fixing could eventuate...Rovers the tip by 24 points with no confidence

Old Camberwell (7/2) vs SBMT (8/13)...looks as thought the track has improved last week at the Barnard given the OC's Unders kicked 27 goals albeit against a bottom team...Tigers marching towards September and meet the challenges every week with authority...Wellers have got better but this is a WFA class opponent not a restricted class horse...Tigers by 38 points given the track is no worse than dead.

NOBS (4/6) vs Reds (7/2)...back at the Gillon and the boy Barker as a target will get the NOBS the money over a disappointing Reds who were specked in the Cup's market early doors but have plenty of duck eggs next to their name now...Red's who won the Country Cup's events in 2005, just have not stepped up to the City Carnival this year and despite rumours of potentially new stable hands coming in to help this week it will be a win to home team by 40 points.

RCT value bet...take the 2/1 on offer for the Ormond boys and the Value bet might be Old Paradians if you can get a few goals in at 5/4 or even money.

Remember bet big and bet early and as one wise old punter taught me...faint heart never won a fair lady.

May dame fortune attend you.

You missed my point - he's 6 weeks' short of an AFL finals series and you were suggesting he's told his old school he might play there next year. Face it, he wouldn't have given it a split-second thought at this stage.

Carl Steinfort played 5 or 6 massive games for Mazenod the year after being delisted and retiring from AFL football. He wasn't wanted by any other AFL side and chose not to play for dough - fair enough. Remember, he effectively retired from serious football. Yep - and he was so loyal to Mazenod that he's now playing for Old Haileybury. You could technically throw in Caydn Beetham if you wish, but he's also one who only played a handful of games in second half of Xavs' season after he gave away big time footy, and decided in the middle of the year to pull the boots back on for fun.

Johnson isn't in the same category at all.

RCT - you're right, we should get back onto round 15. Still, I think 'rumours' like this should take a back seat in favour of fact and opinion. Sorry if that's difficult for some, it's a product of being someone who likes to write about things that actually occur.

Cheers

You don't think there are AFL footballers who are in the middle of their careers who have said to Ammo clubs, when I finish up at the AFL I will come back and play with you ?? Anyway Agree there are more relevant things to talk about.

For sure that has happened. Matty Robbins has said he will play for Ormond when he finishes up his AFL career, whether that be in 1-2 or 3 yrs. He played all his junior footy there & has 2 brothers playing, so why wouldn't he.

RCT, very creative as usual. You have summed things up very well. The Monash one is very interesting, as Parkdale are very much home track specialists and have put in some shockers on the road eg ormond. Fancy Monash on a dry day

Reds do have significant inclusions this week and you will see a far more competitive effort, and I am confident they can salute and put NOBS well and truly in the drop zone.
Can't come at OC without loats against you guys although it won't be a blowout, as they have a very good record at home.
Parade /hampton? Gee, who knows? Toss of the coin..hampton.
Ajax easily for mine.

One might add that the battle for 3rd and 4th spot takes place in the C reserves this week between Nobs and Reds. Should be a cracker of a game one that will be well fought out by both sides. and prove to be quite an interesting contest which could see both teams in a re-match in the elimination final if both stay in the top 4 provided the wellers dont sneak in.
