Great gut run and link play by Poults did a fair bit of this in year one. For the life of me I don't get the hate towards him, imo he's the sort you put time into. Not your short people with poor disposals or questionable kicking skills and limited scope athleticism.

I'm not a particular fan, but its good that some have him in their sights. When a young kid who has a bit going for him is seen as a potential delist, it suggests there is little dead wood on the list.

I can't quite get a sense of his game. He is very tall but does nothing aerially. He has a nice kick but misses targets. Takes his time but still picks the wrong options. Seems to have a lot of good tools but not sure how to use them. But somehow also lacks any stand out attributes.

Am I totally off the mark in thinking reminds me of seedsmen early in his career? Or has someone got a better comparison ?

I don’t remember how young Seedsman played in comparison… just remember him showing glimpses… but like Seedsman, Poulter will be a late bloomer I think

It’s like he’s like a young giraffe still growing into his body… that his balance, running, physicality etc is still affected by his physical immaturity

He certainly accumulates at VFL level but as you point out there is no distinctive thing or weapon about his game - so far

A lot will depend on the clubs patience… how much a ceiling they think he has long term

His Kicking is Good and Height once he grows into his Body More

Seedsman was quicker.

I think he'll be in Adelaide next year. He seems excess to needs for me, he's a neat player but is likely to be one of the pnes we let go to create space for someone like Hill

There is definitely a touch of the baby giraffe about Poulter but his highlights package is A-grade. Heaps of upside when he grows into his body.

I’d love to see him get a sustained run as a centre square mid in the VFL side in 2023. I think he could play that role in the AFL side in 2024 and beyond.

i dont think hes an inside mid. and to be a break away mid hes not fast enough or a good enough user.
his instinct is always to be on the outside. I actually think at his height he should be trying to become a flanker

Seedsman was quicker.

I think Poulter owns his wing more dominantly. Finds space more frequently.

Seeds was deffinitely quicker over all agree but less of a ball winner at same age.

But I don't think Poulter is typically slow once at top speed, think he has a bit of pendles pace about him which is average.

Plenty of talent, finds both space and ball, dominates his wing most weeks. Development appears to have stalled a bit this year, he seems to cruise through some games, a little too good for this level. One of those kids that is a cut above VFL but not quite ready for full time AFL, needs to really work his ass off to go that extra step in his journey.

Seedsman without the pace.

It's not so much an overabundance of hate for him but rather a lack of love.

Aaron James without the urine was my comparison.

See I disagree I think his scope once he builds his frame is higher then a 178cm of the same ability.
Loki - you asked me to rank our U23 list few days ago, and I responded, and did not include Poulter.

Apart form Height and mobility, what do you see as his strengths that give you confidence he can succeed, once he builds his frame?.

Seems like a natural replacement for WHE - I can see a lot of similarities (good and bad!)

Half the speed, average leap and nothing like the kicking ability. I’m going to take some convincing…

Poulter sports an infinitely superior mullet which counts for a lot with today's youth, furthermore he has strong support within the BF lobby group; and they have a huge influence on the club's decisions.
