I would not be disappointed if we go for Sam Lalor or Murphy Reid with that pick. Preferably Lalor.

Both are versatile enough to play forward too
As we need pace in the midfield I would be thinking Draper or Smith.......how good would that be, a Carlton midfielder that is actually fleet of foot!!! WOW:p

Collingwood got absolutely rinsed in that megatrade. Wow.

Not sure but I just read a post on reddit that pretty much sums it up;

"The last club I would have picked to need a midfielder, and the last club I would have guessed Kennedy would go to for midfield time."
I mean they're losing Macrae, Daniel, and Smith, no?

Their defence is largely ancient, Libba doesn't have much left. Plenty of spots and opportunities, and the next in line haven't really stepped up consistently.

Kennedy would help connect a few dots at the stoppage, and would have more speed around him, but I doubt we're getting a top 30 pick.

Hopefully we end up with something in the mid 20’s as our second pick- even if it’s through additional trading

I think a big bodied midfielder would be better. Draper and Lalor seem the best for that but still prefer Lalor.
I don`t know if you follow "Gettable" on the AFL site with Riley Beveridge & Cal Twomey, but Beveridge is a Carlton supporter and is in the know with the draft and actually sees that one of the clubs biggest weaknesses is that we have no players in the middle of the ground with elite speed and elusiveness to compliment guys like Cripps, Hewett and Cerra who are all big strong bodied guys but lack pace. Beveridge seems to be leaning towards guys like Smith and Draper as the type that are essential to us improving our ball movement from the centre of the ground to our forward line, and that`s why I am doubtful about a Lalor or a Langford type bigger mid being taken with pick 3, but then everyone seems to like Lalor including the tiggers, so he may not still be on the shelf when we get to pick........

I reckon tigers will come for norths pick 2, and take Jagga too… he spent the time training there in the summer via the A Academy, and played vfl for an extended run - they will have fallen in love with him for sure
Cant see north taking an adelaide boy, he'll want out like JHF it'll be Smith or FOS for the Roos i recon, leaning towards FOS

The Hun certainly seems to think we are FOS all the way and that our risk is that he won't be there at our pick - but if so we'll definitely have a shot at a good'un anyway. But I am not so sure that we have traded up with FOS solely in mind. I am not convinced he is the best choice for us, but the others might be gone (or in the case of Draper draw a pick swap with Adelaide on terms we couldn't refuse) so that he ends up being our pick. Ashcroft to the Lions, Lalor and Smith likely gone (unless North stretch for a tall but I doubt they would) would leave Draper/FOS on the board and I could see Adelaide offer us a good incentive to swap and unless we are much keener on Draper than whoever else is left (and I am a big fan of Draper and his fit for our needs) that might be the play, either now or on draft night.

What would the Saints have to offer for us to consider Kemp.. Given he was a 17th pick, with 4 years of development and finally starting to show signs of being a reliable defender. At a minimum it would be a future 1st.

I personally think the club would do it for pick 20-25. Just a hunch.

For me personally, 15-20 or F1.

But it also depends how the club sees him (only they know). If he is a key part of their 2025 plans keep him under almost any circumstances.

If however, we see him as depth and likely to seek better opportunitties at the end of 2025 anyway, then makes some sense to move him now.

How good is Kemp..?
Is he shaping up to be a necessary/important cog in a Premiership team in the next few years..?

I guess what I'm wondering ... Is he looking like becoming an A-grader or a B-grader..?

A-grader (or B+) = keep
B-grader = if a good deal

I personally think he is, thought he showed heaps of ability in the 2nd/3rd tall role supporting Weiters, however the fact we went and got Haynes perhaps suggests the club feel differently.

Here's Kemp's AF score against good teams .. where 60 is a pass (imo)

44 - GWS
85 - Bulldogs
61 - Port
85 - Coll'd
66 - Hawks
36 - St K
28 - Bris (EF)

Poor - GWS, StK, Bris
Ok - Port, Hawks
Good - Bulldogs, Coll'd

* StK inc .. R24

AFL fantasy is a pretty terrible indicator of performance, especially for anyone who isn’t a midfielder.

North will do a North and take a left field choice, Tauru or Armstrong. They cannot take more mids.

Our pick 3 is effectively pick 4 because of Ashcroft but its effectively pick 3 because of North.

I don’t buy in to effectively pick 4, because everyone knows that Ashcroft isn’t really in the open draft.
Even if we have pick 4 cause Ashcroft has been taken, it’s still the 3rd real live pick of the draft. And with your North Melbourne logic it’s more like the 2nd pick

North should split the pick and get 10, 11 from Richmond.

Then they get two KPP's

They won't though
