He didn't make the Vic Metro squad, despite some highly ranked players being unavailable due to injury.

He's a tough hombre', but I don't think he has a lot of hurt factor with his disposals. If we were to draft him, it would be with a late pick, at best.
Rookie slot surely?

If we were to draft him, particularly given our current draft hand, it would have to be in the rookie draft.
I reckon that the club should pick up all of our recent F/S candidates for the VFL side.

100%, why isn't Ben Silvagni playing there?

Happens all the time in local footy where brothers are split across the first and seconds and makes the club a better place.

Ben was supposed to be playing in Sydney last year, but somehow ended up with the Bullants. Hopefully he’ll move over to the blues this year.

I wonder if Tom will join Ben at the Ants.
I'd like to see both of them staying at the Bullants for a couple of years, get some experience playing at a lower level and if the club thinks that they are good enough, pick them up again as rookies in 2-3 years time.

Then again, Tom might decide to sign for the Carlton VFL side.

I haven't heard anything about Tom Silvagni as a footballer, what level is he playing and how well is he going?

I think we should go for a few best available kids with our VFL recruiting as well as father sons. I wouldn't want to go too young with the VFL as I want our seconds to be good so will need a bit of balance here but would be nice to be able to recruit from there. I am guessing that there could be a fair few players taken from state leagues next year.

He made the Chargers squad but was a peripheral figure - he's more likely to be playing at local level next year IMO.

Tom plays for the Oakleigh Chargers. My mates son also plays there and has watched Tom play alot, nothing special and not AFL standard is what I have been told.

Alex Silvagni says it's never too late to play for your ancestral club.

I think I remember him sharing a post of the Bullants beating the Blues last season.. seems a bit bitter.

He was rapt after that game and fair enough, the kid has bought in big time to the Bullants culture and to knock off our 2s after being left for dead and pretty much presumed buried, I think getting up and about is fair enough.
