No, explanation. I was just banned. I joined today to discuss the Ampol sponsorship discussion to see what other fans thought. Because I found the topic on Google.

I shared my email I wrote to the board about the decision. There was a link to a petition and one swear word in the email to the board. Would that get me banned?

On iPhone using BigFooty.com mobile app

I found it. I'm looking into it.

Hi Aphrodite - RE: the new Copyrighted material pinned post - can we get some clarification of what is and isn't acceptable?

e.g.
1. Cut and paste whole article from a news site and post. NO.
2. Cut and paste section of article without attribution. NO.
3. Cut and paste section of article (1-2 paras), providing attribution/link to original. YES?
4. Link to article. YES?
5. Link to archive of paywalled article. ???
6. Summary of article. ???
- e.g. providing the names of the players in a phantom draft published in a paywalled article?
7. Screenshot of section of article. ???

The TOS specifically says a paragraph or two is generally OK with attribution.

Linking to an article has never been an issue.

Linking to external content - we can't control what other sites host. (Of course some troll will get smart, the option is always there to muck around and find out.)

A screenshot is still the content. A small amount for commentary or parody is assumed to be fair dealing. General guide is 10% of the words.

In the end, you are the publisher of your posts. We abide by notices of copyright infringement on the platform.

Just to add to Chief's response Bletch:-

The new Copyrighted material pinned post has some extra important info that came to fruition since yesterday.

Article posting rules have always been on the sites Terms and Rules which can be on found on a link at the bottom of the page.

5. No illegal content; respect copyright owners.
  • Articles from other sites should be limited to a relevant paragraph or two and a link to the source.

It's also in our Carlton Board Rules & Posting Quality Policy thread:-

Any more questions, feel free to ask.
