Lots of Hird about SOS.

Prodigal son effect allows him to get away with **** that would've resulted in anyone else getting fired long ago. Trading the #1 pick for Liam Stocker, among a host of other Gpd-awful list decisions Absolute disaster.

No systematic doping regime yet.

The only reason they traded their first pick is due to him being a **** coach. They got stooged, why wouldn’t you trade it out based on how their recent top picks are going?
That’s on Bolton for overseeing development.
They had no confidence in how that pick would be developed so traded it.
They traded their pick for two picks. What you are saying makes no sense.

Surely Brads Scotts would be too smart to take a job at this rabble of an organisation.

Unless of course there is some kind of AFL backroom deal Paul Roos to Melbourne style.

Difference being that Roos had at least won a GF (even if with the advantage of a salary cap rort).

As for Bolton, lol at all of the sheep in here repeating the 'it is all Silvagni's fault' mantra.

Did any of you watch the footage of Bolton's team address a few weeks back?

It was less inspiring than a suburban club coach I had as a kid, and that guy was a fat drunk who didn't know much about footy.

I feel sorry for Carlton fans, what did they do to deserve this?

?? That makes no sense ... Sam Walsh going ok.

Of course it does. They didn’t back themselves or him to turn the top pick or one of the top picks into what it should become so had a dollar each way and took two. The whole place lacks self belief.

So how does this work? Everything was on track... they’ve had 11 poor games, and they’ve fired the bullet?
cripps decided yesterday bolton isn't the man for the job. i've seen him get 36 touches with a jack steele tag. if cripps wanted to fight for bolton he would have broken dylan clarke in half at the first bounce yesterday.

There is clearly talent on that list.
Weitering, Mackay, Curnow as talls and Cripps, SPS, Walsh etc.
I'd be pretty confident that a new coach with a clear vision could do quite well.
I understand it's piss-take hour for most, it's all part of the fun and games on BF.

However, I struggle to understand how anyone could think our list is in a worse position than 2015. Some should probably go back and have a look at some of those names. Billy Gowers is the only delisted player that comes to mind as one we could've kept.

Our great hopes in 2015 were Cripps and Docherty. We also thought Buckley, Graham and Boekhorst had some promise. That's it.

I'm not suggesting SOS has been the best list manager in the league, he's fluffed around with the more mature recruits and there's still holes to fill. But the list right now has infinitely more potential than it did when he took over.

Remove all former Carlton players from managerial, coaching and administrative positions, and then they can be assessed through an objective lens
Board and Coteries too? They are also part of the problem.

this keeps being banded about. they traded a first round pick, not the #1 pick. still a dumb decision as you never trade your top pick in such a League where the quality drops off a cliff as it does in the AFL, but they obviously thought they were going to make a run and finish equal to or better than 6th, which in itself was probably fanciful. It put the pressure on the footy dept to produce results.

only after this woeful season has it turned into a #1 pick. at least we know they aren't tanking, they're just shit

Bolton should market his own weed killer, he could call it "No more Green Shoots" tm.
And have a picture of his big goofey face smiling on the bottle.

Carlton’s current problems summed up in one 11 minute video.

Like the blind leading the blind.

When David f***ing King is giving you the double thumbs up... you definitely know you stuffed up.

You literally answered your own question the very next sentence.
Dew is doing a great job, but Gold Coast's recruiting strategy has been much smarter. Miles, Hombsch, Collins, Holman and Murdoch are smart mature-age recruits. Carlton have brought in the likes of Sumner, O'Shea, Mullet, and literally a dozen more.

Gold Coast's list managers have given Dew something to work with, and Dew is doing a great job with what he's been given. Bolton has, frankly, been given **** all.

Everyone: Carlton need to sack Bolton. He never played AFL, he only got the job because of his wins as Hawthorn caretaker and he's got the worst coaching record ever.

Carlton: Sacks Bolton

Everyone: Haha! Carlton loves sacking coaches, they can't help themselves. Can't believe they sacked him! Idiots.

We can't win (literally OR figuratively).

It doesn’t matter what us opposition supporters think ...

... it’s what Carlton folks think that matters.
