I think they're going with what they call now a "re-imagination" rather than a recreation...
I think the key words are that they “are inspired by” the mosquito fleet. It’s a bit like I could pick up a guitar and be inspired by Kurt Cobain. I might not be anywhere near as good as the original, but I am giving it a go.
