You refute my points about Carlton with attacks on Collingwood. That doesn't work. It's called deflection...
I know hearing the truth about where Carlton is at must be painful. But you need to be strong to overcome all the self delusion you guys have cocooned yourselves in. I'm trying to help you out.
Please try and convince all and sundry that Collingwood didn't finish 9th this year, with more losses than wins.

We really do need to stop telling them where they have screwed up.

They're clearly all very comfortable with how they've performed and the decisions the club are making - let's just let them be.

And sit back and enjoy for another quarter of a century!

The Pies don't play the 'potential is better than proven ability' card.

The Pies were apparently cooked after 2021, and since then have added to our list:
Houston
Hill
Mitchell
McStay
Perryman
Lipinski
Schultz
Markov
Frampton

Five of whom have played important roles in our premiership team, another who was injured for that Grand Final but crucial in the two lead up finals, and the other 3 will be important cogs of our next premiership tilt.

But, but, but... 'under 23' (of which Carlton have nothing of note anyway)!
The youth Fudgenator... Who are the youth??

Let's disregard clear patterns and historical trends in favour of clear speculation that everything that can go wrong will go wrong

You're right unfortunately, Walshy. Collingwood will probably bottom out worse than Richmond. Every single player acquisition will be a bust and every single veteran will retire without being replaced by means of good drafting or use of free agency and trading. In 2027, Collingwood will trade the Daicos boys to stock up with draft picks.
I know this is a bit off a pisstake, but you do realise that Tasmania will have access to the first dozen picks in the draft, so the pies will get picks around 14 or 15 in 2027 unless of course they decide to trade out futures again in 2026

It's more likely we'll get a pick at around 30

Yeah Markov & Frampton are genuinely 2 of the worst Premiership players of all time. Only one worse is maybe Cox.
The fact that Markov and Frampton have won more premiership medals than anyone has won in a Carlton guernsey since 1995 is a credit to an outstanding football club that gets the best out of its players. It's a great reason to continue believing that Collingwood will continue to disprove the opinions of its desperate doubters

Other than Houston and Hill that line up is just spud after spud after spud.

Schultz being the biggest howler obviously.
Yep.

Mitchell - 4th in our B&F in a premiership year and in the top 4 on the ground in a winning Grand Final.

McStay - Highly influential in the Qualifying and Preliminary Finals - we don't make the Grand Final without those performances.

Frampton - has played many a role in many a game. What a great depth player to be able to call upon as and when required.

Schultz - plenty of upside from his 2024 performance, as he showed when at Fremantle.

Markov kept Noble out of the Grand Final side, and apparently we made a mistake in trading out Noble?

Lipinski - hard running workhorse who is a great depth player.

Perryman - let's see what he can produce.

But my point is, we were apparently cooked after 2021, and 4 of the players you labelled spuds were brought into the team at that point and are premiership players...

It's a cool story . I'm sure those 2 in an open market would be top 10 material.
Your own supporters don't like them, yet here you are...

Do you work for Collingwood Forever magazine doing player profiles? Comedy central, but it sells hope. Good write up

Wrong again Worm.
12 wins, 2 draws, 10 losses. Less losses than Carlton🤣.
Are you on a bender in Vegas or something? Your place is all over the mind.

More than happy to have 23 of the worst premiership players of all time in the one premiership team.

Now, who can we label as Carlton's worst premiership player of recent times?

Hmmmm....

Mitchell's 2023 GF was his 7th most recent game of footy.
Curnow's last good game was his 7th most recent, by comparison

Frampton what a lovely pick-up he's been. Plugged holes in key defence and ruck when we were injury affected in 2023, then donned the shirt as the club won the grand final. Deserved every piece of his medal. Did exactly what good depth is supposed to.

I'm not huge on Lippa but he is statistically dead level with Elijah Hollands who is supposedly a top 10 player at Carlton. Elijah is younger and should probably have a better career, but the bar is pretty low.

McStay has effectively only played 18 games for Collingwood and is kicking 1.64 goals a game playing forward. Good player who hasn't yet got going. Schultz will only improve in his second year where he's not being forced to play as a pseudo tall.

Lots to look forward to at Collingwood next year

Absolutely

Cripps - 2x Brownlow winner and currently the best player in the game
Curnow - 2x Coleman medallist and the best forward in the H&A seasons
McKay - 1x Coleman medallist and consistently great key forward
Weitering - finally achieved AA following his best season at his peak
Walsh - has played his best footy already. His current level seems the go for the future.
Saad - played his best footy
Docherty - played his best footy
McGovern - played his best footy
Cerra - injury prone and probably playing his best footy

Besides De Koning and pick 3, who is elevating this team from 8th to premiership contention? If the top 5 on that list continue to play at their remarkable levels for another 2-3 years, Carlton will likely continue to coast at around the 5-8 range on the ladder
You are using accolades won as evidence for how players have peaked? Daicos won the AFL coaches award - so does that now mean he has peaked or is it reasonable to suggest that players don't just stop improving after winning an award?

On the specific players you have mentioned Curnow, McKay, Weitering, Walsh and Cerra are all good players with still areas to keep developing. Genuinely laughable to think that Walsh and Cerra prior to 25 have played their best football. As an added note this was not Weitering's best year but it was McKay's best year and yet Weitering won an award and McKay didn't showing they are meaningless as a metric for this topic.

We didn't have Docherty in 2024 so that is a bonus for 2025 with his on field leadership and versatility. Saad didn't have his best year but had arguably his career best year in 2023 and there is no reason why he can't get back to that. McGovern as well still has room for improvement as we build cohesion with that back 6 which has largely been disrupted the last few years. And on top of that Cripps at the age of 28 proved this year that despite being one of the best players in the game you can continue to make significant improvements to your game - in his case his outside game was that area in 2024.

Do you work for Collingwood Forever magazine doing player profiles? Comedy central, but it sells hope. Good write up
Nope.

Just all factual.

You do realise you guys are bagging out key players from a premiership list, whilst at the same time trying to talk up your own list (who haven't gotten near contending for a premiership, let alone won one).

Maybe you should actually have a closer look at how Collingwood go about it, and see how it's done properly...

If Markov is getting games in 2025 , then Collingwood is well and truly cooked..
Famous Collingwood saying - "Markov can Farkov" all over bigfooty. He is not liked at all amongst his own
You can finally have him when we are finished with him and delist him. He can be your first premiership player since Dale Thomas

Nick Daicos, Bobby Hill, Beau McReery, Isaac Quaynor, Harvey Harrison, Pat Lipinski, Oscar Steene, Ed Allan, Tew Jiath, Will Parker.
It's better than your young group🤣
They won't be happy when they find out who Alex Condon is, and that he can play footy. Hope he goes well in the NBA draft, but he's got a nice fall back option.

Tom McGuane can find a football too, and we can't wait for him. Can't wait for Iliro Smit to make a name for himself too.

Wrong again Worm.

Are you on a bender in Vegas or something? Your place is all over your mind.

For us, Collingwood is a bit of a sidequest rather than the main mission.

We certainly don't like them, but we don't think about them all that often. The thoughts & knowledge are more fleeting than anything - like, Worm would've thought - 'yeah collingwood prob lost more than won, cbf checking, it's not that important to me'.

Whereas I'm fairly sure you guys have gathered in Olympic Parks basement in since the 80's, dissecting every Carlton player past & present, from their average disposal tally to their passport numbers, surrounded by a wall covered in newspaper-clippings of Carlton-bashing articles, & reporting of the salary cap scandals. Sunlight is scarce whilst a shrine dedicated to Fadge sits front & center, while his disciples kneel before it to pray before starting the days activities.

Carlton have had a decent list since 2022.

Carlton failed in 2022 to make finals, being kicked out by the Pies in the last few minutes of the last game of the season.
Carlton made finals in 2023 and made it to a prelim that they should have gone on to win.
Carlton finished 8th in 2024, on the same points as Collingwood with % separating the 2. If Collingwood won only 1 of their 2 draws for the year (F**ing umpire in the Freo game), they would have knocked out Carlton again.

Carlton are a mentally fragile team.

They should finish above the Pies in '25 but will collapse again at some point.
