Carlton vs Richmond

I know "Squibbs" is a borderline meme on BF but ffs, he crouches in the goalsquare and limply puts his arm out to grab the ball.

BluesMan

I'm filthy at him and I hate Carlton. Just pathetic. Has all the tools to dominate the AFL but just doesn't work hard enough, always ends the game looking like he just pulled his guernsey on and never runs up a sweat. His effort is implicitly condoned because Ratten won't drop him.

Regardless. The score review system has to go. It's a blight on the game.

Agreed, unless the AFL are prepared to spend some money and get it right, then eff it off. IMHO, Tiges were stiff, should have gone back to the goal umpires call. I hope it is not a goal the difference at the end.

A few things about it could/need to be refined maybe but it should stay.. Been a lot of decisions which have been fixed this year and some important ones.. I couldn't believe one game when a goal umpire had about 3 calls corrected in one quarter.. Few weeks ago Dahlhaus hit the post clearly and they fixed up the call.. There's been plenty..

Adelaide may have been a few hundred thousand dollars poorer if the ball that hit the post in the nab cup game against port wasn't reviewed..

Hot spot has shown it will work and it would have worked if you have the cameras in the right areas, this is a billion dollar sport umpired on a 10cent budget and is shows.

Do you have any idea how much hotspot would cost to implement? Lets not forget you effectively need multiple cameras at every venue in the country, and they would need to be purchased rather than hired as they are for cricket. Would you actually see anything from a finger touching the ball?

Hotspot is perfect for cricket, but its totally unworkable for AFL.

If the Tigers lose they might as well put the cue in the rack for 2012.

A fair dinkum team would beat this Carlton lineup.

It's all part of the plan. They still have the next 5 years to win 3 flags that Benny Gale predicted.

TBH I wouldnt mind if we dropped him. But obviously because of injuries we cant.He is soft alot of the time yes, but I just think that on the goal line was a brain fade. Its not like he was looking at someone and shat him self, it was just a major brain fade. Not soft.

The guy who invented hot spot was on EMT and said it was very cost affective he did not say a price.

Whether or not the right call was made, the video review system should have someone in their 20s or 30s watch the vision rather than someone in their 50s or 60s.

It's not a brain fade, it's his default approach.

Yeah wasn't a squib as such, just no intensity and feel for the situation that he was a metre out from opposition goal and players will be coming - smash through the ball.. People say things like that cos he plays like 'meh'..

FFS ! I am convinced after this week and last week that the AFL want Carlton in the finals

Honestly, with the goals they pulled out of their Arse last week, (And many were pure arse believe me )
And tonight of course, yet again scoring Flukey, Arsey Goals and getting all the lucky bounces as per usual , Finally, to go along with that , at least 5 totally disgraceful decisions favouring Carlton yet again, i am convinced that the Navy Blues are the luckiest bunch of pricks ever to play AFL / VFL , and undeservedly so i might add !

Richmond kicked 0.5 in that quarter, do they want Carlton in the finals too?
