Also with the Lynch situation i suspect there is a real chance the AFL will give Gold Coast a priority pick.. It will be easy for the AFL to justify giving them one and not us because we didnt apply.

You gotta look at who was still on the board not who was picked at those picks.

I get that - but most pundits rated those two pretty highly at the time.

So just having two choices does not mean you do better. I hope we take #1 pick to the draft and take best available unless we are offered significant overs (or could get Ollie Wines and not drop too far)

For those that have mentioned and interested in a maturer age player, one that I believe will get drafted this year

Shane McAdam -23, 185, 84 KG. Has a massive leap, sub 2.9 sprint

By the way, also from Halls Creek WA
Speaking of Sturt and Halls Creek... Tye Bedford?

Bobbed up for a huge game in Sturt's reserves then seemed to be injured in the next game? Where's he at?

Were they a lot stronger with them in the side earlier this year?
I think the Saints will win the spoon. They have a tough draw and the Queensland teams will win some at home. As you pointed out, the injured players weren’t helping them in the first 4-5 rounds when they had the best injury list in the AFL.

I'm not saying it would influence anyone. ..he is going in the draft and doesn't choose. I'm saying that if we got a puck between 5-10 and drafted him he would have people to help him settle
everybody who is any good would settle in any club they're drafted to because they want to play football
unfortunately there are so many snowflakes in our footballing system because they're not cut in totally ruthless rise to our elite system
these kids should take into account every other elite sport!
gridiron through high should into the elite collegiate system and then drafted
soccer academies don't allow kids to settle
tennis kids trying to play through satellites etc

AFL really has a problem with depth and there's nothing below underpinning it

this is one of the many things that's bringing football down

we don't even spend money on our VFL sanfl wafl competitions to try hold players in stronger undertier competitions longer

talking about a bubble that will pop

Don't think we'll have it to trade, but if we do end up with pick one, I would be very open to offers.

Pick 4 + 5 (if Lynch leaves) for 1 and a later pick would be a great deal for us, as would 4/5 + Ainsworth.
Thats not a bad deal and would certainly warrant consideration

Yeah both would be great results for us I reckon.

Tough call to part with pick one, but as we know, that pick doesn't always guarantee the best player in the draft.

4 + 5 in a strong draft is a great hand and could develop into two excellent young footballers.

Ainsworth on the other hand is a jet, and would look brilliant up forward alongside Charlie and Harry. GC won't want to let him go, but if he's keen to return to Victoria...
