Carltons Next Captain/Leaders?

Now that its official that Big Red has been given the flick, i think the leadreship group should be as follows:

Nick Stevens (Captain)
Chris Judd (Vice Captain)
Kade Simpson (Deputy Vice Captain)
Marc Murphy (Deputy Vice Captain)

Dont need anymore than that.:thumbsu:

Ratten said that we will probably have a leadership group of about 6 next year.

Based on that I think it will be:

Stevens (C)
Judd (VC)
Waite (LG)
Simpson (LG)
Scotland (LG)
Fev (LG)

While this is not the group I'd chose, it is the one that I expect as these were the 4 guys who were considered captaincy material in Lance's absence.

I'd love to get Murph in there.
 
Stevens and Judd Co-Captains.

Nobody else. Maybe just Stevens on his own for captain.

I'm usually not in favour of co-captains but this is probably the best time to implement it.
 
I think it should be either Simpson or Stevens

Everybody is saying Stevens but i think we all need to look at the fantastic job Simpson did as stand in Capt in 2007...Carlton started with a rotation but as soon as Simpson was Capt he was Capt for the next 5 weeks...there is a reason for that and it was cause he lead from the front.

Plus he is a pure Carlton kid...and young...lets remember how good of a leader Sticks was when thrown into it so young.

Leave Judd out, let him do what he does best and break the packs and kicking the ball to Fev!!!

No to Simpson. Yes he did a good job BUT from what I've heard he would not be a great figure head for the club.

Also, Judd and Stevens will be the guys that all the young guys look up to. Despite the job he did I think all the young players would still think of Simo as one of them.

It is also an insult to make him captain over Judd but not so with Stevens.

Stevens should be captain and Judd VC. In 3 years when Stevens is 30 he should give it to Judd who will be 27. Judd should keep it until he is 34, even if he does keep playing. After that Gibbs/Murphy should take it.

As much as I want it to happen and think it's possible, I'm not going to assume Judd will be playing at 34.
 
Simpson might not be a great figure for the club, but is that what people said about Sticks??
Anyway, i think it should be Stevens with Simpson and Murphy as vice's
We need to leave Judd alone and let him play footy, he has said so many times he doesn't want to be captain...at some stage we need to listen to the man....once Stevens has retired or hit the age Murphy can take over.
 
yeh either stevens or judd for captain and then the rest of the leadership group all young guys..like murph, simmo, fisher...i even think fev should be in there because i hope that the added responsibility will make him change his wild ways....

Would care to explain that? Whats wrong with? thanks in advance.

I reckon simpson would be great you see what he did when that cheap **** newton smashed him in the back. he went straight up and biffed him. Also he gut ran all day.

I wouldn't make Judd vice-captain at this stage. Simmo should be vice-captain. Judd is a pretty humble guy, and just wants to play footy and earn the respect of his team-mates. :)

More of a quite type, not as friendly to the supporters ect. It's just what I've heard.

That was my reasoning. But I would love to see a young leadership group put in place for the under 21s, like the one Adelaide have, with Gibbs and Murph at its head.

I also wanted a player from each section of the group in the leadership group. Stevens, Judd and Simpson provide leadership around the ground and in the midfield, Waite in defense and Fisher in the forwardline. Seems the most logical setup to me.

Heath Scotland could be another put in that group but I don't think he provides the kind of leadership example off the field that we'd want from our offical leaders. The same goes for Fevola even if he is a natural leader.

agree 100% at this moment in time i can't see fev have a leadership role. If he has a fantastic year then yes. On the other hand mayb giving fev a leadership role will allow him to step his game up
 
i think fev should be one of th e VC's i reckon giving him a bit of responsibility could do him good.
