MY question - not as dangerous as a knitted condom I can assure you

With the STELLAR success of Sam Simpson last week - not to put him under too much pressuire going forward - who is the next youngling to be presented for games in our best 22.

Im hopeful of seeing Freddy, Evans and Cocky this year - all 3 of which did quite well in the scrub match vs Pies on the weekend.

Do we hold Cocky and Duncan out because of the ultra hard surface of Otpus Stadium?

Am I dreaming?

Its not called dreaming..... its called believing....

Hey guys.... Just wondering why do you think Geelong for years has never recruited a young key ruckman in the draft from the Under 18s level... I could be wrong but I think the last few genuine Key Ruck recruit was Dawson Simpson or Trent West? We seem to get Mature Age Rucks eg "The Big O" , Hamish McIntosh , Rhys Stanley, Zac Smith, Fort and the list goes on...
I have to admit Darcy Fort in the pass few weeks has been serviceable, not poor but good actually his game against Brisbane was awesome and I couldn't believe how low his stats was..
So what im trying to say is why don't we ever get a 18 year old kid and bring him threw the ranks and bleed him him over 2 or so years in the vfl?

Hi all,

Cat Attack Podcast recording on Wednesday at 4:30pm. Feel free to fire in your questions.

Another thing. Charlie Constable, I have love for him like Cameron Ling does... but seriously is there something his done in a pass life thats stopped him getting a game? In all serious, I know him and Jack Stevens don't play the same role in the side but I would choose Chook over him as I know he is fitter and run out a game..

Is there an easy way you have found to do this cause I would love to do it!
I use kayo so I can adjust both the TV and radio depending on which one is in front. At the first bounce it takes about 1min to set up to your fussiness. It's not great, nor 100%, but it's so much better if you can be bothered.

Hi guys, when the first lockdown occurred triple m released their calls of previous grand finals on podcasts. I know that K-rock played the 2007,09,11 grand finals again but as a cats supporter living overseas I wasn't able to tune in. Is there a chance that these could be released onto a podcast? The other game I've been trying to get my hands on is the 07 prelim, I will never forget that Corey smother!

We have brought in JS , thats one position that a younger player struggles to get a chance with. Him not play allowed us to see Sam Simpson ..and that one game may now be enough for him to get another contract.

One might say that if a kid is good enough etc do we risk being left with a husk of team soon , GA, Joel , Danger, Harry T , JS, Tom Hawkins , 2e and then Blitz , Rowan and Duncan are 29 ....

At what point does having so many mature 29 yo plus / 250 game plus players inhibit the development of younger players?

Do we have a different football norm now..is the ideal average age of side older than the pre FA era... or are we creating a house of cards?

MY question - not as dangerous as a knitted condom I can assure you - still gagging over that one.

Well that just left me feeling like Harold's arse cushion. Soft and squishy and empty in the middle.

The Pies outplayed us clearly and deserved the win - but how can a 3 to 1 ratio of Free kicks be acceptable as an Umpiring outcome.
Just pay them both ways and the footy public could accept it IMO.

My questions this week -
1 - Chook has been held out based on being an inside mid and with Selwood, PFD, Duncan, Narkle, Stev, Parfitt, Guthrie and GAJ there has been a queue. Now that Duncan, Selwood, Narkle and GAJ are absent - surely Chook gets a look in. There are no excuses left - he has to be in this week.

2 - The Esava situation. Got very little last week but still shows flashes. Needs to keep getting games but surely form becomes a guide at some point.
Can we move Sav to the ruck ( not my first choice for him as he's not a ruck IMO) and bring in Freddy in to CHF and give Fort a week off. Not that Fort has been bad - just looking to get a little more dynamic in F50.

Or does Rohan go out for Freddy and keep Fort in.

Granted, Barely Going has been better last 2 weeks than earlier in the season.

Great call and keep it up

Enjoyed the last episode lads thanks very much for the continued efforts in the face of adversity this year.

Just for the next episode had a question about whether statements early in the last episode there about playing kids, losing games, and getting a good draft pick or two square with later statements in the same episode regarding Sam Simpson and giving kids time to build in the system before exposing them too much too young? To me that seems to be having a bet each way on the narrative.

hey guys.... im asking another question on Chook... do you guys know any inside info on why he hasn't been playing? Even when he got dropped last year, the club said he had to work on a few thing ( seriously there was nothing what he done for a kid is in his first season of playing AFL..... ) iv got as much love for Constable than Cameron Ling does...

Kreuger.... Alot of us here are all aboard the Kreuger train.. surely its time for him to get a game. Play him like the Tom Lynch role from Adelaide few years back, when they had there stron forward line, until he has the confidence to be 2nd main man...

Thoughts?

Great call getting BMac on - was an awesome listen.

This week - Freddy must be in with Hawkins getting the week off for the softest act ever - but we all knew it was a fait acommpli when he did it. Kingy even made a point of it in the call.

But to the good - Close showed flashes on debut. Simpson did his job without standing out - Miers worked hard all day.

BLitz and Sav did well against Darcy but the weather was the equaliser and v Nic Nat its another story all together.

Duncan rested at the end suggests he'll play v West Coast and they were load managing.

Massive task on their deck with a depleted squad for us. But its now or never. Keep playing the kids and lets see what Wells and Co have built. Chook must stay in the guts and be given multiple weeks to do his thing.

Can we cobble this one together for a win? Tough ask.
