THE CAT TRAP
Cats have adopted a clever game plan.
Attack hard early from every turnover.
Go direct if open targets are available.
This makes opponents drop back more.
They start attacking less defending more
Go wide to boundary if area is flooded.
This makes intercept marks difficult
Exert max forward pressure, force errors.
This creates chaos in Cats scoring area.
When rebounding, forced to run and carry
They risk turnovers in dangerous areas
Set up perimeter zone around 50m arc.
Cats aim is to lock the ball inside F50
Gain repeat entries create scoring chances.
When they break out they have no targets
Intercept, kick back and switch directions
Aim is to force them to remain defending.
Slow their attacking momentum to zero
Control game tempo and grind out a win

Waiting for West Coast fans to start complaining that we stole Humphries and that they were going to take him with there next pick just like a certain other somebody 😉

P.S Lets hope Lawson doesn't get married to a WA girl who doesn't like Geelong and wants to move home like a certain other somebody!!!

Versatility too. He was last player back in defence a few times, had a few inside 50s playing slightly forward of the ball, had a mark and goal at full forward, so that to go with a few CBAs.

Feels like a baton pass from Duncan to Bowes will be coming at some point.
Bowes seems to have really found his place & we’re 6-2 with him getting 20+ disposals

For all the improvement in midfield metrics the backline was critical at winning the game. The pies got the game on their terms in the 3rd quarter. Played a lot in our back half but they stood resolutely and gave up very little for all the dominance.

Felt like the Pies were like a champion boxer on the ropes from their injury riddled 2024 and that was their last flurry of haymakers for the year. The back group withstood the heat then we delivered the knock out punch in the last quarter.

Lucky enough to watch the game whilst at work tonight.
What’s better than beating Collingwood on a Friday under lights?
Nuffin… absolutely Nuffin. Except beating them in a Granny of course lol 😂.
A couple kudos to give.
Zuthrie. Great job. Bobby just got a bath.
Holmes. Plenty of metres chewed up tonight. Solid blue collar game.
Miers and Bowes played well tonight.
Dempsey continues his assault on the Rising Star ⭐️.
Danger is a Fookin Beast.
SDK continues in having another red hot go.
Lastly young Humphries. like BP the silent achiever.
What can I say about the lad. He Brings a smile to my face.
Off to chase up my Magpie workmates as they disappeared really quickly tonight.
Cheers Boys.
GiddyUp Catters!
I think Scott enjoys getting one over McCrae. Had to double-take when he said post-game something like: even if Collingwood aren't that good (at last minute comebacks), they still think they are, so it makes it dangerous. Lol

I must admit to being a little unsure about Bowes, not critical, just a watch. Might have had injury to overcome too.
He's good, really good.

Importantly he's a great person too. There's something very satisfying about getting in on the ground floor.

As original people on the Dorito express know well. (That's everyone now)
Should just rename the dorito express the v line because it's carrying all of Geelong

Compare the pair. Same age, very different super contribution.

Insert pictures of Mannagh and Schultz here

The pies could have just taken mannagh with their r1 and kept their future top 10 pick.

Their second pick was staight after Mannagh was taken, so close 🤣🤣🤣

Can someone do a shooting star meme of Nathan Kruger blatant dive..

It was lathered in so much mayo and gravy the AOC is flying him out to Paris as a part of the Olympic diving team

The Romanian judge gave him a perfect 10.0
Or Nick Daicos when Jezza flung him across the centre square like a toy!!

Wow is Chris Scott actually that smart and precise with the gameplan ?
