Reilly will miss with an ankle injury as he is on crutches. It really is a cruel blow as he has been one of our most consistent performers this year. In his press conference Neil Craig implied that Welsh is unlikely to play next week, which really leaves us depleted up forward. Bode is still in doubt with knee soreness, and he can’t come back quickly enough because he’s just about the most crucial player on the sidelines IMO.

Burton performed extremely poorly today and limped off with 10 minutes remaining in the game. He will also be in doubt for next week, as will Porplyzia who seemed to injure his knee.

We can’t take a trick and we could potentially have Reilly, Burton and Porplyzia all out through injury. Assuming Welsh doesn’t come up, what would your changes be?

In: Hinge, Bode (if fit), McGregor
Out: Vince, Reilly, Porplyzia

I still don't think McGregor is fit enough to play AFL next week, but due to the fact Welsh will more than likely miss we need another tall forward. Hinge will probably make his debut after being an emergency for the past two weeks, even though Pfeiffer would offer a lot more.

Not Pfeiffer?
Mate, I would bring in Pfeiffer without any hesitation. 22 disposals, 5 marks, high up in the best in his first game back. But Neil Craig won't, I can guarantee it. I mean for reasons unknown to me he rates Luke Jericho. Last week for West, Jericho had 1 kick and was benched for long periods of time, and yet Neil Craig mentioned his name as a possible inclusion despite this performance. Please tell me how that works? He could even find himself in the reserves and yet he would still be talked up by Craig.

Hinge is a good player and I rate him, but Pfeiffer is easily the superior player. If Hinge is making his debut before Pfeiffer, then it’s a concern.

Good to see the 'boot Douglas out' campaign is over.
OK this really has to be a piss take. So were the coaches also wrong in dropping him and them calling them back up when it was evident that Welsh is not going to come up?!

Seriously, you and the dreamer kid need to get some perspective. No one here is saying that our youngsters are crap and never to play a game again. When they have a poor game, they are in danger of getting dropped. When they have a good one, they have some breathing space for a week. These kids do not have browny points saved up so one bad game can cost them a place in the side.

Douglas had a stinker last week and was sensational today. Good on the kid for showing guts and determination to bounce back after a stinker. It tells us a lot about the make up of a player. Griff also had a stinker against Port but has since played 2 beauties against high quality opponents. Again, tells us something about the make up of the kid.

If someone dare suggests that Douglas or Vince need to be dropped, its not because they believe those 2 are crap and shouldn't be in the league. Its because they could do with a run in reserves to get some confidence back AND there is pressure for spots in the side. If Bode or Welsh came up this week, Douglas would have played for the Bays.

If Welsh doesn't play, then I'd be picking Kenny Mac as the stay at home forward with Perrie, Bock and Stevens playing the leading forward role.

Perrrie tries his arse off but just isn't strong enough to play that stay at home forward role.

PLUS a sharker up forward to get the crumbs. A decent crumber could have snaffled quite a few sausage rolls up there today. Hopefully Bode will be available.

I am not going to rule Brent Reilly out just yet, I will give him a few days to see how his ankle settles down. Simon Goodwin was a certain out after the round 1 loss because of injury and he came up.

In: McGregor (Jericho is an option)

Out: Vince (omitted)

We should just wait and see how serious some of the injuries are before we start looking at who we can replace them with. Let’s give them a few days to settle down and recover from the knocks.

C98, I would be shocked to see Jericho get a game..if KMac was named and not him then someones stamped his card...at least until there is some SANFL improvement

So would I but stranger things have happened. If Burton and Welsh don’t come up he could very well be in the mix.

does goodwin have an injury problem or is he just in really bad form?

Looks like he's playing a different role this year to me. Doesn't seem to be in the thick of it as much. Not sure if this is a correct observation or not.

Jericho had one kick for West Adelaide last week, one measly kick. He was also dragged for being undisciplined. How on earth would he even be near getting a lifeline with the Crows on the back of that performance?

If Radar doesn't come up its Pfeiff time, bring him in and stick him on the wing, his confidence will be up after yesterday and he is definitely able to run out a game as he played pretty much all day yesterday.
Agreed. :thumbsu:

I'm intrigued by Pfeiff time. Tell me more.
:p I’d love to see him play this week and I think it’s time for him to make his debut, but chances are Craig will want to see a string of good performances before he calls him up to the Crows. In his last game prior to injury, the trial game against the Eagles, he was named high amongst the best so he’s performed well this season. If Reilly and Burton/Porplyzia are out injured, and Bode and Welsh fail to come up, there are only a few players that you can pick from. Hinge, Jericho and Pfeiffer are the 3 that are the like replacements, and I know who I would prefer to see in the side.
