I'm just saying, it's going to be very difficult to get over a team that's beat us the last 3 games with all those players missing.

Gutsy wins have a tendency to take a lot out of a side, coming back from Perth too?

Its an 8 day break from Perth. Travel from Perth will not be a factor.

Without doubt the two most important players missing on Monday will be Gawn and Hogan. We can cover our losses better than they can cover those two. Our best players with the exception of Elliot (assuming he doenst get up) will all be out on the park. Schade can cover Goldsack, Greenwood will play, Aish isnt even proven best 22 yet, Wells is easily covered as our midfield bats deep, Varcoe and Reid will be back after the bye. And mentioning Sinclair....OMG....

Injuries or no injuries Melbourne will be hard to beat.

Looking forward to seeing Dunn make a really big statement against his old side this weekend. I don't think he's the type who'll try too hard and end up making errors.

Really wish him luck, and hope his "replacement" in McDonald plays an absolute shocker.

I dont think hes the type who would care too much who his team was playing. I expect some cordial handshakes and then him to get back to work.

It such a shame to see so many injuries over the past few weeks when we are finally playing to our potential.

Given the importance of this match cant see the selectors risking too much so think it unlikely we will see Kirby who I don't think is AFL fit

Out: Wells, Elliot, Goldsack - all injured :'(

In: Brown (debut), Schade, Blair (makes me cry but think Kirby is to big a risk)

Clearly if Fasolo was available he would be straight back in but that's up to him. I prefer he takes as much time off as needed so he gets to a good place.

It will be tough to beat Melbourne in their Grand Final but hoping we have the resilience to get through with a win to give us a week off with the bye, and potentially then to welcome back Reid, Varcoe, Aish, Elliott, Goldsack and Fasolo after the bye

Anyone think Langdon could come in for goldy instead of shcade? I'd personally much prefer Langdon but not sure how his match fitness is. Langdon is more like goldy than shcade, I've lost faith in shcade

The in to replace Elliot could be any of Fasolo Blair Kirby Thomas or Mayne.....or even Cox.

I'm starting to think that Mayne might be up for a recall.

I'll wait and see how the injured players pull up.

Elliott's ankle injury appeared relatively innocuous and may not keep him out.

Wells will miss.

Greenwood should be fine.

Goldy initially hurt his shoulder against the Dawks unless I'm mistaken and copped another dose yesterday. Likely he'll miss and take the 2 week break.

Doubt we'll see either Reid or Varcoe. Aish and White might be ready to return but you'd think they'd come back via the VFL. Hopefully Wills is back in the VFL this week as well.

You'd imagine that Schade, Brown, Kirby, Thomas, Langdon and Cox are in the mix. Fas will determine when he's ready to resume. Will watch to see if they upgrade Thomas this week for Oxley.

I hope you're right, but I'm not sure you know the meaning of innocuous. The bloke was screaming in pain. He had to be carried from the field. He had a player collapse on his ankle and had a small iceberg strapped to his limb 20 minutes later.

He's just about our most important player, so our season needs some very good news from his scan.

Melbournes grand final this week, going to be very hard to win.

People saying Mayne was good what were his stats? I saw he only kicked 1 goal.

Is there any hope Elliott could be ok with constant icing for the next few days? Or do we reckon we probably won't risk it and he will play after the bye

He was on Kersten and Crozier throughout the night. He wasn't as involved with ball in hand as he will be moving forward, but he was strong defensively. The only error I spotted was his decision to spoil which resulted in Walters spotting up Mundy for his goal. He should have marked it! The thing is it was a 2 v 1 and he was covering for whomever should have been responsible for Walters. Even that assessment is tough in some respects because there would have been no talk calling him in to take the mark!
I thought he could have taken that mark too.
Maybe he decided to play safe after not holding the mark in the 2nd qtr. and Hill should've kicked a goal but missed.

if Elliot gets up after the bye I'll do handstands. same ankle and it looked ordinary seeing him in serious pain on the ground.

the small forward line is working so I hope Cox isn't in for Billy.

Yep, know what it means. Was referring more to the way it occurred, seemed a simple rolling of the ankle.

he made 2 errors in that play. firstly not marking. secondly not punching the ball into the second row.

aside from that play I cant think of any other mistakes he made. happy to see him going about unobtrusively atm.

Sando suggested in a pre-match interview that they are concerned about the load on Moore and the lack of a tall option in the F50 when he's rucking so you would reckon they'll look at another tall forward option at some stage. Whether that's this week or they'll wait for the possible return of White or Reid though is anyone's guess.

I'll take a half a game of Kirby over four quarters of a fully fit, inept Blair.

I have no idea of the changes. I'm unsure if we debut Kirby and Brown either. Already we had a few Vanilla types yesterday, Schaz, Crocker and Ramsay being three vanilla types. I reckon we need to get some of our vanilla types a clear run at it.

Out: Wells, Elliott, Goldy
In: Kirby, Schade, Mayne

With Goldy and Wells out (two very experienced campaigners), think it's important to bring in some experience in Mayne.

Blair should never be selected in front of Kirby, Daicos or Brown ever again!

Out - Sack, Elliott, Wells
In - Brown, Kirby, Langdon

I really hope the selection committee agrees about your thoughts on Blair. I think at least Kirby and Brown should definitely be ahead. Daicos has probably slowed up a little bit but would also prefer to see him getting games.

What part of what I wrote do you think is inaccurate or not for real?

Love Dunn. He crashes packs, handles big power forwards and is a thumping kick. People talk about the elite kicking of Shaz. I call a 50-55 metre pass from a kick in to a teammate where he didn't have to break stride an elite kick. Shaz is yet to do that even once at senior level. He cannot handle big bodied players nor is he quick enough to cover the speedy smalls.

We get it, you don't like Scharenberg. Move on.
