In: Presti (for Reid), Wood
Out: Fraser, Davis? (two average weeks, could use time in the seconds to get form back like everyone else). But who would come in for Leon?

Thoughts?

Easy this week;

In: Presti, Wood

Out: Reid, Fraser (hurt his knee late, may need a rest with a 6 day break).

Leon is a concern, but he doesn't look fit, so maybe a rest for him also, with either Lockyer or McCarthy coming in.

Was looking at Davis in the last and everytime the ball went out of the forward line he had his hands on his knees with his head down, wasn't right at all today

Do you guys think it would be wise to drop Leon? He has been playing fairly selfish footy the past 2 weeks, and hasn't made a dent on the scoreboard.

Agreed with those changes.

I rate Reid. But we need to bring Presti back and I think Nathan Brown was a bit more solid down back today. Knee injury or not Fraser should come out, was shocking.

I think the club considers Reid ahead of Brown.

In: Presti, Wood
Out: Brown, Fraser

Davis should stay in, if he deosn't improve in the next couple of weeks, he's gone.

If Wood isn't fit enough, bring in someone else. Anyone else.

I reckon with our hard games behind us for a while it might be time to blood a new player. Buckley is the most likely, but I wouldn't mind seeing Blight or Rounds given their shot.

Presti has to come in for Brown if anyone, as Presti+Brown in the same team is far too limiting on our rebound (wasn't needed today much, but other times will be).

Not sure Presti is needed at all though, Roos hardly have a key forward worth worrying about.

In: Wood
Out: Fraser

In reality though, unchanged is most likely, and I'd be perfectly happy with that.

Leon needs a rest, he isn't fit, probably carrying a niggle. Give him a week off any training and matches, then bring him back.

OUT: Davis, Fraser
IN: Lockyer, Wood.

Not sold that Presti has a matchup against the Roos, might be wise to give him another week off to fully get over his injury. Brown can take Hale, Reid is looking okay, regardless of conceding five today [a few of which weren't hit fault].

macaffer was good today dave

they were saying through the telecast that leon is leading our tackes inside 50 this year
not sure if true but you would think that amatuer channel would have some correct stats

on this basis, is it worth dropping him? while we are winning by 10+ goals and he isn't kicking any himself, his defensive work might be worth a game

Nup, I reckon Neon Leon stays in the team. Regardless of his fitness he still drew Carlton's best shut down player today and continues to provide pressure and tackles inside the 50. If he announces himself as being fit, which he clearly is doing, then I think he stays in.
He kicked 3.5 two weeks ago and while I think he isn't midfield fit, I still think he is far too dangerous to ignore in a forward pocket.
See how he pulls up I guess.

I'd go Fraser for Wood this week though, was poor again in the ruck and his opponents continually broke away and rebounded the ball out of the 50 when he played forward, he doesn't provide enough defensive pressure or offensive strength.

Don't need Presti for the Roos, Reid or Brown will manage Hale, he isn't a great contested mark nor is he quick on the lead. If Petrie was playing I'd bring him but, but I think it's better to keep getting games into these boys while we can.

Caff was good today, seems to always make the smart decision with the pill. Good to see him play around the packs a little bit today as well.

So yeah, just
In: Wood
Out:Fraser

Agree about keeping Caf' in. He's improved on last week, and had a few moments of glory when he beat his opponent one on one and came out with the ball.

'Caff had a good game, he should stay.

N.Brown was solid, Reid bit unlucky but also seemed to lack awareness at times, but both to stay in as the Roos dont really have monster forwards...Hale is tall, but not very physical.

Fraser poor and body language ordinary at final siren, he should make way for Wood.

Only other change would possibly be Leon out for Lockyer. Lockyer had a good game at VFL level, and Leon played selfish footy today....no place for that in our team. Good opportunity to show that all players need to do the team things.

No room for Anthony yet...Medders, Dawes and Cloke gelling well...JA needs to keep kicking goals, but more important is his defensive work off the ball.

In: Presti, Wood, JMac

Out: N Brown, Fraser, Leon

For me, Presti is a straight in if he's fit. I just think he adds an extra solidity to our backline. Reid needs to learn to keep his feet in the contests more, but I think he offers us more than N Brown, so on that basis I'd keep Reid in.

Josh didn't have a good game & looks injured. Straight swap Wood for Josh, don't even consider L Brown.

Leon was hobbling at the end of the Anzac game last week & he didn't look 100% fit today. Give him a rest & let him recuperate. JMac's been good in the twos, so I'd bring him in. There are a few others who would be challenging for the spot too.

I thought Caff had a decent game, particularly in the final quarter when the scum were challenging. He held up in a few contests, won the ball & delivered clean possession to the Pies.

Reid won't play next week, MM wanted to kill him at times today, he was calamitous at times.

Nathan Brown just doesn't make the same mistakes as Reid does, so if Presti returns, Reid will go out.

Plus with Hale, McIntosh and Goldstein, Brown is a better matchup then Reid anyway.

Agree with the Leon needs a rest calls.

Anyone got any info on Josh, apparently grabbed his knee late and went off.

Presti has been fit for the last two weeks @ Daicos Mullets.

Brown just gets the ball and whallops it, that's a far bigger mistake than Reid ever made IMO. I'd certainly stick with Reid over Nate, but that's just me.

On your comments about leon, whilst i think your right, when hes on form he is incredibly dangerous. But today, i thought he was so selfish. He snapped and tried to kick goal of the year each time he got his hands on the pill. I also remember a marking contest where he tried to fly over his opponent near the square and didnt get a hand on it. Fully fit, leon is a devastating force in the forwardline/midfield. But at the moment...i see him has a weak link. I would like to see Rounds given a chance because hes been damn consistent in the 2's

Fraser for wood seems logical to me even if its not a major injury, he should get a rest just in case.

So for me;
Ins: Rounds, Wood
Out: Davis, Fraser

What injury is Davis supposedly carrying? He still managed to attempt three speccies and chase hard, I can't imagine he's all that badly hurt.
