I only saw parts of the VFL game, but what I saw suggested that the seconds play the same style as the seniors, and are vulnerable to the same chip and switch tactics that bring the seniors undone. Whoever we play on Saturday, the on field leaders will have to be prepared with methods to deal with this when it starts.
The heart of it for West Coast is the kicking of Hurn. He needs to be tagged out of it, or he will direct the ball too well too often for our upfield players to manage. Perhaps Greenwood. The problem is that this placement upsets our forward line a lot. None of our forwards are suitable for the role other than De Goey who can probably do anything, and we really don't want to lose him to a negating job. I don't have the answer, but the coaches have to find it.
The defenders have an awful task in front of them. They have somehow managed for weeks, indeed all year, but perhaps this will be one mountain too many. Howe will come in, but we will still be heavily overmatched for height and experience.

Goldsack hasnt looked a capable AFL player for a few years. Hes a battler who gives 100% but GOD help us if we need to bring him in this week

Varc's just about the worst player in our squad above his head so I'd be reluctant to put him on Hurn who has a height and weight advantage, and pound for pound 1 of the strongest players in the league. I'd actually push Stephenson or WHE toward Hurn.

Varcoe might be better suited to Cole or Duggan.

WHE has been a shell of his former self last month since hurting knee, your defence is very solid ours not so, on paper the game looks worrying but we find a way. The whole first week of finals I can not call one way or another. Kennedy and a neat back to form Darling is scary.

21 days normally for a slight hamstring strain to heal.Darcy has had 5 weeks rehab to Saturday and unless his hamstrings hang by a cotton thread he should be ready to go.Treloar to have on ball spurts to allow Sidebottom to go deep forward to expose Hutchings one out who will be hanging from his jumper while he is on ball.Greenwood to play Murphy's role down back.
