Really, really, really hope Mayne is ok to play. His accuracy was sorely missed. Agree with Lach about Ibbotson, he has really pissed me off the last two games with his lack of effort. What really annoyed me was that whe Ibbo was dropped this year he didn't play WAFL and came straight back into the side without any penance. Maybe should be swapped for Broughton if he is ok. And why is Sutcliffe the sub? Tonnes more talent then Suban and others for that matter.

Ins:
Fyfe, Mayne, Dawson, Broughton, Neale (because if they are 100% they all offer more than the outs!)

Out:
Duffield, Clarke, Spurr, Suban, Walters (all omit)

Keen on seeing Mello back in and i reckon when his right he takes sutcliffes should give way to him - otherwise i reckon Sutcliffe has been great as the sub and should hold that spot...

Out of interest, why do you want to drop Walters?

Anyone suggesting Walters, Spurr, Kepler or Sutcliffe should be dropped are moronic. All had solid games today (accuracy aside for Kep) and play an important role in the team.

Ins: Fyfe, Mayne, Lower, Neale
Outs: Clarke (woeful), Duffield, Suban, last one is tough maybe Mzungu/Robbo

Finally some good competition for spots with nearly a full list.
Other possible ins are Broughton and Snos/Dawson (probably wont need another tall back against the power though).

I don't think there will be the wholesale changes everybody wants, including the pet hate names (justified or not). One of those, Ibbo I'd be very surprised if he's dropped. He's a strange one, he can take a good grab, seems to read the play really well and has enough hight to control the air on averaged sized players and is athletic enough to manoeuvre around and away from players bigger than him, but he just doesn't seem to use his assets well enough. Having said that, he wasn't as bad as some are making out. He did attack out of defence at times and he wasn't a flog all day - he made some good plays and seems to be in Roscoe's OK book at this stage. He'll stay in.

Duffield might be on thin ice, and I think he'd be OK but there's some good form/quality on the wings which might kick him out - Broughton, Neale are two that come to mind.

Suban is a mess, he's out for now. Hope he can get his s**t together.

Clarke didn't show enough to keep Keps out when Mayne's back in town. Keplar missed some shots, probably could have used the ball here and there a bit better, but he is miles ahead of Clarke at the moment (except in the ruck of course).

Mello doesn't sound ready for AFL game time yet from all reports nor is Lower, so you can count them out of the mix.

All considered:

In: Fyfe (if fit), Mayne (if fit), Broughton (if fit) or Neale.
Out: Suban, Clarke, Duffield (sorry buddy).

I'd swap sutcliffe and mzungu

For me the sun needs to be an energizer bunny and both fit the bill.

Others

Broughton for ibbotson

Mayne for Clarke

Fyfe for suban

Neale and dawson But at who's expense? Team balance?

Again the calls for Mzungu to be either dropped or the sub are ridiculous. He is probably the one player that runs all day and it may not look like it but he breaks up a lot of plays just because he gets to the contest and closes down the opposition.

Agree on Sutcliffe playing however he's the only sub this year that has 'injected' something when he comes on.

The most embarrassing thing was seeing the stats at the end of the game.

Our highest possession winner was Clanger Pearce with 24 disposals, then we had Barlow and McPharlin with 23 a piece.

They had Greene with 29, Miles and Bugg with 27 each, Treloar with 26, Power with 25, hell even Rhys Plamer had 22 touches.

WTF!

No wonder our crowd numbers stink.

So we were direct and kicked their score 5 times over

Curious - what was our kick to handball ratio compared to theirs? I wouldnt read too much into disposal stats... whenever we switch down back it's 3 kicks and we're making a forward push again, compared to their kick, handball, handball, handball, ball up, handball, handball, handball, kick

LOL what a squib comment.

Can't wait to see mello back in the side. He is better than Son son. Harder at the ball, Better defensive tackling and pressure acts, just as good a kick and probably a better set shot, not sure it will be this week, but the sooner the better...

Agree with everything except the bolded. He is also taller and gets to more contests.

Lol Suban 10 disposals at 50% eff with 75% time on ground.

Sutcliffe 10 disposals at 70% eff with 31% time on ground.

Have said it before and will say it again. Do not understand why Sutcliffe is being played off the bench. We could use his run and skill during the full game, rather than just as a bonus at the end.

He's been a very good sub. But surely he'd more more useful running out a full game.

Mellington offers more than Walters in the Lyon game plan. I reckon opposition backmen would be very sore come the fourth quarter being harassed by Mayne and Mello. Walters although gifted and capable of the amazing I'm not sure offers 4 quarter consistency in that vein. Like both in the side though :)

Just watched a replay, probably harsh on Ibbo and Duffield. Both were reasonably good, Spurr made just as many if not more mistakes, Roberton though, was fantastic.

Duffield was very lucky not to be pinged a couple of times for holding. A more experienced forward would have made it more obvious to the ump and managed to squeeze out another free or two, on top of the one he already gave away. He really is a weak link. As others have said... Ibbo or Duffield. Not both. My preference is to punt Duffield, because Ibbo can at least play defense (most of the time) and take a decent mark.
