No Grundy, Cox test, JT and Elliot likely.

Gathered, accrued, amassed....doesn’t refer to forward/back positive/negative.
Gained! Not gathered. Not accrued. Not amassed. Gained, as in metres the ball went forward. Pretty straightforward stat.

He had 3 tackles, only four Collingwood players had more on the day. Pressure is perceived and actual. You cannot doubt his intent in and around the ball. He had two strong contested marks from memory also. His disposal efficiency last game was good, I do acknowledge it’s a critical weakness of his though.

I am not trying to defend his credentials as a best 22, I am trying to point that at this current point in time and given how we are playing we don’t have a better alternative.

You clearly fall into the category of people who shoot first ask questions later. Sack eddy? Who do you replace him with, we are living that nightmare atm. Sack Buckley, who comes in?! We have tried to drop Brown and we haven’t found suitable replacements...playing kids that are underdone in a team that is performing poorly is not useful to their development. Madgen and Wilson are ahead of brown for dropping in any case.

Again his disposal efficiency is always going to be high he can't kick more than 35 metres. The only efficient disposals he has a 15-20 metre kicks of course they will show up as efficient according to stats. Everytime it has mattered he has stuffed up with his kicks especially for goal constantly has missed sitters when it has mattered.

FYI. I was against the sacking of Eddie. Also, with Bucks he was my absolute favourite player growing up and loved him however he is doing nothing to show why we should give him another contract. The performance as well as most of our performances this year have been horrible. Yes we have injuries but others also do, it is more with our game plan and performances. Anyway regarding Buckley either 1 of 2 things needs to happen we sign up Buckley but it can't be for 1 year has to be minimum 2 show some trust but all assistants have to be cleared out and a fresh start. Or 2 is that everyone goes we cannot stand for no change within the coaching ranks. I'm leaning towards the 1st as I don't think there is a better replacement currently out there

Moore went at 15m gained per possession on the weekend - if that's what you wanna criticise then do it across the board.

Then there's disposal efficiency. Mayne went at 96%! Wanna ignore that? Better to keep possession than not I would have thought.

Lmao did you actually watch the game or any of ours. Comparing Darcy Moores kicking to Chris Mayne. Moore is our most attacking player the only reason his was down was because he was constantly going across the ground to switch to try open the game up. Mayne doesn't try and do anything the constant sideways and backwards i don't get how people cannot see it. He is the main culprit to how we play especially with kickins. As I said Saturday why the hell was Mayne running to get kick ins. He was running to get the kick in then would kick 15 metres into the pocket and then instantly we were locked in. We had the most dismal 1st half of the year and Mayne had 20 possessions sums that up

It's an amazing talent to be able to gain so much meterage when he apparently ONLY kicks backwards and sideways.

And no, I'm not comparing Moore's kicking, you are. I'm comparing meters gained to disprove the constant criticism that Mayne never kicks forward - clearly false.

UPDATED

In: Elliott, McCreery*, Cox*, Thomas
Out: Grundy, Madgen, Brown, Wilson

*Keane instead of Cox, if Cox isn't fit (Roughy to do some additional ruck work and drift forward)
*Macrae instead of McCreery if he doesn't get up

Any chance of Stengle and Callow coming straight in if we recruit them this week?I think our forward line needs a major boost if it’s to score more than six goals this week.

Happy with this, except surely JT isn't an auto inclusion?
Prefer to give another kid a go, especially so after McCreery, Poults and Bianco have slotted in well, not like we're carrying that many shockers
Macrae for a full game please
JT or Cal can be the sub

The distance a kick travels is also included in meters gained, but it doesn't account for back and sideways kicks, it's all mtrs gained
No.
Metres gained measures the distance the ball is advanced towards the goal. It would be a pointless stat otherwise.

METRES GAINED.

I am confused,
If the player that kicks in and plays on after a behind or rushed behind.
And then kicks the ball.
Is that added as a + gain ?

Might get 1 but won't get Both

Look, i think we need to find out about a few guys on the list. Some decisions need to be made at the end of the year about a few guys that have been around for a while but haven't broken through.

With Grundy out, Max Lynch should get a crack. If he can't come in with Grundy out, and Mason Cox under an injury cloud, then he is a certainty for delisting, and I have no idea why we even bothered to keep him on last year.

If not Lynch, then I'd be thrown Kelly into full back to play up against Thilthorpe. This is a first year kid, and Kelly is into his 3rd year. Irrespective of how good Thilthorpe is, we need to get some games into Kelly this year. Roughead is over 30 and we need to start future-proofing.

If Kelly played, that would allow Roughead to play more as a ruck. He is a premiership ruckman afterall!

I actually reckon we looked ok last week when Grundy went down. It created unpredictability. Grundy is good at winning hitouts, but he is very predictable where he hits. So it could cause a bit of chaos using an alternate option for a few games.
