Crisp 200 in a row!

Ed Allan for Sidebottom?

I'd give Frampton another week but Markov probably the weakest link if he comes in.

Murphy got a bath today but has way too many credits in the bank. Safe.

(and hopefully Mccreery didn't get old mate high with ten secs left)
Carmichael or Bianco are more like-for-like. Allan's still not ready. His time will come soon. Better to set him up for success.

Frampton's height is useful but Markov was everywhere today. Murphy is more at risk than anyone wants to admit. Good players are going to miss out, irrespective of credits.

Its laughable that people think we should be resting players before the bye. You dont flirt with form if theyre good to go play them.
Imagine we rest a few players this week and we lose?
Not going to happen.
Agree 100%, need to keep playing at full throttle with our best 23.

Sidebottom will get covered by some combination of WHE, Crisp and Hill. Odds on the former. It's a shame Lipinski isn't fit. I doubt we'll see a like for like replacement. It'll be someone like Reef covering WHE'S minutes forward.
McInnes was injured very early on in the seconds game (didn't get to record a stat), so that's unfortunate timing for him, as (even if he recovers in time) it would make it harder for them to pick him next week.

I think Macrae deserves first crack at it.

If Frampton is healthy, I think the changes are very straight forward to the starting 22.

In: Frampton, Hoskin-Elliott
Out: Markov, Sidebottom

Markov plays as the sub. If Frampton is not fit and ready, Markov stays in the 22 and you play any one of: Carmichael, Macrae, Bianco, Allen as the sub.
This for me as well. As someone in favour of squad rotation that one’s been put to bed because McRae isn’t.

Whether by design, fatigue or mental lapses, pretty clear we're currently not playing at full throttle. It's a "good" sign given that we're 10-1, because we clearly have scope for improvement, but could cost us against top teams.

We had similar issues last year and were able to improve on it later in the season and then again in finals.

First change is more time in the ruck for Cox, ffs he’s back to being a bit part player while DC gets more game time than he deserves.

Other changes: obviously JC and Finn come into the squad, one as sub the other 1st emg for Steele. When and if Billy is ready I’d like to see him get a run of games in the backline with Markov moving to wing or sub.

Ps. WHE doesn’t get a lot of love on this board but he’s our genuine utility front, back and wing and he’s doing a damn good job, so I’m giving him some love this week.

I've still got concerns around the ruck. Cameron has his weaknesses as does Cox. Best, in terms of ruck, is for both to play, but not sure that's the best for overall performance.

Unfortunately I don't think we have an ideal combination of talls. We'll play around with it a bit and find out more in the back half of the year. Need them to stay healthy so we can get a proper sample size.

My guess is we'll play all of McStay, Frampton, Cox, Cameron and only go away from it if it fails. Think this means our rucks play less forward and more bench. Works for Cameron, but not ideal for Cox who is dangerous around the ground and forward (may be some questions on tank) and can even be a match winner.

Larkey’s 5 goals highlight why we recruited Frampton. We needed someone especially for the tall forwards so we can keep freeing up Darcy to intercept across half back.
Agreed. Though Larkey's goals mostly came in the last when we'd switched off a bit and gave them easy ball movement.

Frampton and McStay were both brought in to address deficiencies - these were clear in our finals losses. And they'll definitely get picked to verify whether they are the answer, even if it means making tough decisions on Murphy or AJ (doesn't necessarily have to on both). My guess is we'd initially thought Cox wasn't going to be a first team regular this year, but he's played above expectation.

After the WC game we have a 9 day break & after Melb we have a bye. Rests are coming, so I think we make the minimum amount of changes.

IMO Lipinski is an ideal Steele replacement, he's listed as 2-4 weeks so could be a chance to come in after the bye. Need to get through the next couple of weeks.

In: WHE
Out: Steele (inj)
Finn sub.

Murph has balls the size of grape fruits. No chance he gets dropped.
I’m not too sure how Jacob Ryan is travelling, but early this season he was flying. I could easily see Nick Daicos playing that defensive winger and Ryan coming into half back.

Agreed. I actually think Goldstein smashed Cameron. We did a lot better when Cox went onto ruck. I believe we would’ve won by a lot more of Cox had played a lot more ruck.

Don’t mind Allan, but I feel like his performances have t warranted selection. Thinking most likely Macrae, with WHE taking Sidebottoms wing role.

A bit harsh on Murphy playing undersized…he’s our best defending defender.

Sidey being out we need to reward Fin for a couple weeks atleast.

The kids form has been great needs a chance now.

Allan was average on the weekend.

Best over the year continue to be pretty much Carmichael, Bianco, Macrae.

Not going to happen.

Not if the resting takes the form of getting subbed off. That's not laughable at all. In fact, Pendles had a rest on the pine just the other week. Smart.

Are you doing a self analysis session?

We should go the whole hog and do self-criticism sessions a la the Chinese Cultural Revolution. Posters should b made to wear placards which read: "counter-collingwood dunce" and suchlike.

And then listing their errors: distorted thinking, confirmation bias, shithouse grammar.....

Macrae and Carmichael both building solid form that should be rewarded. Bianco was excellent on the weekend too.
