Howe ..I really believe Quaynor would be a red hot winger.
Who can fill his spot in defence if he goes to a wing.

I’m very keen for Macrae to get a look in, but I think that should be when Adams or Mitchell are out, or even Pendles. We’re quite one-paced without De Goey, and Macrae is not going to help with that or our lack of tackle-breaking ability.Do we need to look at Macrae ? His form doesn’t demand it but we need to fix the inside contest and not leave everything to Titch when JDG is out
By going to defence allowing IQ to move up fieldHowe ..
Johnson a “mature player”?
Johnson -> Mcstay
Reef -> Ginni
Harrison (move to sub but has cause for another game) --> Elliott
I’d agree with that in relation to your average player. The one that immediately springs to mind and it’s not a comparison at all is Hawkins who used to really withdraw into himself if he was having a rough day. Role, fitness, experience, personality, confidence etc. there’s so much that feeds into it and although I can’t comment on whether he was the correct choice as sub I do think your comments in the WHE thread were correct in how we want to set up our forward third. It’s unfortunate for Johnson if it goes that way, but he’ll be back.I wouldn't have subbed him out yesterday. In his short career he's already had his share of big moments in last quarters of big games where he'd been previously unsighted.
But in terms of his effort appearing to drop off when he was having a bad game, I suppose it comes down to whether you think that the competitiveness that makes some players go harder when they're being beaten is innate or can be learnt. I think it can be learnt.
Why would we drop our best Ruckman? If McStay comes in it is either Cox or Johnson out. Will be interesting call.
OUT: Markov (sub), McInnes, Johnson, Harrison, Cameron
IN: Elliott, McStay, Krueger, Ginnivan, Carmichael (sub)
Cameron looks underdone. Cox & Frampton to ruck. McInnes has no impact at AFL level, Carmichael has proven he can have a big impact in the sub role. I'd be inclined to give him a full game and have Ginnivan be the sub.
Why is Carmichael coming in ahead of Markov and Harrison?OUT: Markov (sub), McInnes, Johnson, Harrison, Cameron

I am sure that was all taken into account when he was cleared to play. Are we intent on making excuses for everyone that played in our losing team? (As though Melbourne's players were all at peek-wellness while all our boys were suffering from something or another) Can't we just admit we were beaten by the better side on the day?Only bought to my attention from Royalsampler in another thread.
Are people forgetting the knock Johnson copped last week, maybe should not have played this week
Give it a break, first time I’ve mentioned it FTR.Why??? They played together before. FFS Give it a break. WHE is best 22

I've just done the Maths. Time to take the sledgehammer to training. We need to injure 9 blokes so that Moore makes the team.Tay will love this selection policy
Zaharkis would struggle getting a game now a daysI've just done the Maths. Time to take the sledgehammer to training. We need to injure 9 blokes so that Moore makes the team.
I hadn’t heard any rumours and that was the first thing that popped into my head. The club going with “managed” may not have been the best call…
I was in transit for this one and won’t bother catching up based on the result, but the defense of Johnson seems at odds with his impact on the contest. Spots in the 22 are tight and a KPF having it 3 times with just 1 mark on the face of it doesn’t cut the mustard with McStay waiting in the wings.
FWIW we were due given how banged up we were out of the WC game and having been up for a while. The numbers aren’t everything, but we look to have been lucky to get away with a 4 point loss given the CP, clearance, I50 and SOG differentials.
Why do you think Howe will be back for the Adelaide or GC game?In Howe McStay Elliott
Out Harrison WHE McInnes Marcov
FB: Howe Frampton Moore
CB: Maynard Murphy Noble
C: J Daicos Pendles Quaynor
CF: Hill McStay Nick Daicos
FF: Johnson Cox Elliott
R: Cameron Crisp Mitchell
INT: Lipinski Checkers Carmicheal Adams
Sub: McRae
like to see Cox start at full forward and try to clunk a few and goal.
McStay at chf and blend Checkers into the game.
Pendles there in the guts
Howe to come in to play back pocket.
Quaynor on the wing for dash.
Like to time to give McRae and Carmicheal are real crack at it.
Me thinks Howe might be still another week away and play v gold coast tho.
Side back for the Dogs match so too JDG.
