Pendles is a HUGE blow, but poor Coniglio doing his knee ( hopefully not a ACL) and Kelly out for a couple more games, softens the blow with Pendles a bit.
If he wasn't already, Adams is a must to play next weekend, with DeGoey to spend even more time as a mid now. Thomas may get a reprieve and be recalled, even though he was ordinary in the VFL yesterday.

May not be too bad a thing for Pendles to have a few weeks off to rest his body, prior to a finals campaign.
So coming into a finals series we could possibly have all of Pendles, Moore, Langdon and Stephenson returning. That's not a bad quartet to introduce just prior to finals.

Doubt Langers will be back but you wouldn't want to take in 3 underdone players. Pendles and Stepho should be fine but with Moore rusty and maybe likely to break down again, he could be done for the year.

This paragraph sums up our woes though.

Gun defender Darcy Moore suffered yet another hamstring strain against West Coast, Dayne Beams is out indefinitely as he recovers from hip surgery and a mental health battle, and electric forward Jaidyn Stephenson won't be back until finals as he serves a ban for gambling. That was on top of Pendles and his finger op.

We must have black cats running around to have plentiful injury blows, gambling and mental health added to the mix too.

Stevo is through stupidity which still annoys me, but he will be fit and fresh and a welcome return. Moore, is it a strain, so not a tear? He maybe back in 3, he is too good a player to not consider, despite the injury history. I mean if we go down the road of not picking him on the basis he may get injured again, then why persevere with him on the list, we might as well trade him out. In finals you have to select your best players, and he must play finals.
Langers a long shot, and l think a few weeks off for Pendles may actually be not a bad thing for him, but sucks for the club.

A game and percentage clear of fifth with two eight point games coming up against 5 and 6. If we manage to win them both we’ll be effectively three games clear with four games to go and pretty well a lock for double chance.

Win one and top four still a solid chance but we risk losing a home QF

Damn it - Pendles & Moore
But they’ll have heaps of quality out too; Patton, Kelly, Coniglio, Ward, deBoer, likely Whitfield too, maybe Mumford.
We need the game plan and the intensity. I agree with some others, now release Crisp to the middle, use what is a bad situation and turn it into an opportunity.

Finger operations usually take longer than just finger injuries per se. It may not be the right time to debut Tyler yet with some big matches to come and with Noble and Quaynor in the team with only a few games under their belt.
