Well judging from Burns interview on SEN this morning, I wouldn't expect many changes to the side. Burns making smart arse "I don't see any Adelaide fans at the SANFL games but they all have opinions" line like you can't watch through other methods when asked about playing Newchurch.
Did he seriously say that??

We are a basket case.

A team that is currently 16th after finishing bottom 4 the last few years - we have a gold opportunity to give some guys a taste of AFL after losing the last four games in a row but minimal changes required although we have a large number of players stinking it up!!

Lets just post a video of little mate McHenry going fishing - far more important to please the fans!!

Get Gollant in for McAdam
Newchurch in for McHenry
Milera out for Frampton

With those changes, Keays moves into HF role, Dawson is moved out of defense to centre, Hinge onto wing.

Back 6 is Butts, Murray, Frampton with smalls Laird, Doedee and Parnell. Hamill interchange.

Centre run with Schoey, Dawson and Berry in the middle. Jones off wing, Laird of HB and Keays off HF can assist.

Forward we have Tex, Fog, Thilthorpe with Gollant, Newchurch and Murphy

Cripps is gonna brush off our small midfield with ease and stream out of the centre under zero pressure kicking long and high to the square where Murray and Butt will both attempt to spoil but Curnow will stay down and get multiple Joe the goose goals, only one of McKay or Curnow ever need to fly for the ball as it'll always attract two defenders leaving the other free to crumb or at least dish off to their small forward who are actually capable of kicking snap goals.

The conversations happening among our selection committee that have led to those Burns comments make me think a Spackler transcript is about due.
Also times like these that I miss Deaneus ☹️ you know he'd have some witty banter about the current goings-on at the club.

If this is the attitude that our coaches have during a rebuild, then they all want sacking tomorrow.

It's just insane.

LOL you seriously watched both games at the same time?

I think that explains a lot.
That’s better than one of our “prolific posters” who spent the day on on golf course but was ready to rip into our “spuds” as soon as he left the 19th.

Since he has only seen two Crows games “in the flesh” in more than six years, I guess not actually watching our teams play gives him a unique perspective on where we are going wrong.

Time for a redemption selection:

IN: FRAMPTON

Since the beginning of last year the Adelaide Crows are 4 wins 20 losses in games without Billy.

In games with Big Bad Bustling Bad Boy Billy - we are 8 wins 8 losses.

Despite playing only 6 games - he still has more meters gained than Butts/Murray/Parnell/Brown/Hamill.

Bring him back.
Funniest post of 2022, thus far.

Yeah, Billy has been the difference   .

Where does your wildly “uniquely” perspective come from?

I find that actually attending matches provide a different perspective compared to watching it on the tellie. I then like to watch a replay which helps me to have a better understanding of not just what is happening but also why.

Similar story with the SANFL but I can’t get to as many games as I like.

What I find quite amusing is the posters who openly admit they have only seen brief parts of a match, sometimes none of it, but then spend hours the next week posting about all our problems and poor coaching an must have selection changes.

Stats don't lie, OR tell the truth. Stats are just numbers. It's how those stats are interpreted that make sense or not.

This year, I praised his game vs Bulldogs highly (he'd been good the week before as well) and expressed the hope that it was a break-out game. Even went so far as to say I was wrong about Billy and looked forward to further improvement and consistency. But then, Billy being Billy, he spudded it up again and was dropped.
This year, he's played one-and-a-half decent AFL games.

The better teams (and Carlton is one of the better teams) put a particular forward (not necessarily a star) on Billy and focus their forward play through that player. Why?
Because Billy has been hopeless at AFL level at one-on-one defence. He gets caught easily metres behind his forward on a lead, for starters.
You want stats that don't "lie"? Please look at Frampton's AFL stats in the win-loss numbers you've quoted, as well as AFLCA and Brownlow votes.

Frampton has been underwhelming at AFL level.

Another poster has quoted his SANFL stats, including rebound 50's from last week.
Unfortunately, good SANFL form does not necessarily translate into AFL success.
Nevertheless, OK, let's reward Frampton's very good SANFL form with yet another chance at AFL level. It's worth a try because Doedee is playing so poorly and Frampton could not be much worse, right?
However, if he has to play one-on-one as a lockdown defender, he'll cop a hiding. I don't know what the question is, but Billy is not the answer.
If he is selected, I hope I'm wrong.

They do lie.

Frampton is good enough for SANFL level, but a clear example of a player not good enough for the highest level.

I'll literally break my computer if we attempt Frampton yet again at AFL level without giving one of the other kids a go first.

Looks like Rachele is still injured. No point rushing him as Smith pointed out.
Ok with this, but we should take this approach regardless of age.

Doedee clearly labouring... bring in Worrell.

McAdam under a big cloud...bring in Gollant.

Given we are in rebuild mode with no chance of making finals, it's pointless playing players who are not fully fit when we could give a youngster another game.

Surely this would be a good opportunity to use Hately on Cripps.

Keays either managed or into our forward line to replace McHenry.

Funnily enough I can recall seeing things in person than just never happened - such as Dawson on a wing or up forward in some games when it just wasn’t true.

We used to laugh at Vader’s TV that showed different things to everyone else’s. Maybe you’ve got unique tickets that allow you to see different things?

For entertainment value, I would love to see Murray on him. Fully aware this won't happen though.

What I would do is put Keays on him. None of leadership group is really standing up at the moment. So would be an opportunity to lead by getting under the skin of the opposition captain to help win a game.
