Cripps is gonna brush off our small midfield with ease and stream out of the centre under zero pressure kicking long and high to the square where Murray and Butt will both attempt to spoil but Curnow will stay down and get multiple Joe the goose goals, only one of McKay or Curnow ever need to fly for the ball as it'll always attract two defenders leaving the other free to crumb or at least dish off to their small forward who are actually capable of kicking snap goals.
You forgot to mention that Cripps will run 40m without taking a bounce to kick a goal which the commentators will get themselves excited over.

For entertainment value, I would love to see Murray on him. Fully aware this won't happen though.

What I would do is put Keays on him. None of leadership group is really standing up at the moment. So would be an opportunity to lead by getting under the skin of the opposition captain to help win a game.

Keays is the obvious choice - strong through the core himself and a 2 way gut runner. I wonder about running Berry head to head with Walsh for his development

I find that actually attending matches provide a different perspective compared to watching it on the tellie. I then like to watch a replay which helps me to have a better understanding of not just what is happening but also why.

Similar story with the SANFL but I can’t get to as many games as I like.

What I find quite amusing is the posters who openly admit they have only seen brief parts of a match, sometimes none of it, but then spend hours the next week posting about all our problems and poor coaching an must have selection changes.

Well, if you had half an idea you’d know that our issues aren’t unique each week. And had you actually stalked me properly, rather than just manufactured rubbish, you’d have noticed that my only comments on the actual game were complimentary re ROB and Laird using their legs in the contest and qualified by advising I was watching on my phone whilst walking between shots.

If you can find a post on the game itself, outside of the above, feel free to quote it. Otherwise, it’s just displaying more of the typical fantasy land stuff that is bouncing around your head.

Nah, we don't have to try to develop Walsh for them...

Yes, that would be good for Walsh’s development. Not sure we should allow him to learn from Berry. Not good for future clashes. 😊

Funnily enough I can recall seeing things in person than just never happened - such as Dawson on a wing or up forward in some games when it just wasn’t true.

We used to laugh at Vader’s TV that showed different things to everyone else’s. Maybe you’ve got unique tickets that allow you to see different things?

It’s a fair extrapolation of his from where I’ve mentioned in a game day thread I’ll be watching on phone whilst playing golf to somehow commenting on a manner as if I’ve seen the entire game live. I made 2 posts, both responses to WW regarding seeing Laird and ROB use their legs in the stoppage. That’s it, but I think I’ve got myself a little admirer.

I like the idea of Berry v Walsh for his development.

But shouldn't we be trying Hately v Cripps for he development too?

We know what Keays can do... & he has struggled for form in recent weeks & looks to need a rest or perhaps a new role up forward.

Hately on Cripps..

Cripps will monster him, much stronger and harder at the contest than Hately

Cripps plays big, Hately doesn't.

We are not trying to make finals... so we should be trying different things.

We brought in Hately as that big bodied midfielder... played him for a whole 2 games in the middle where he did OK... then banished him to a wing to fit in Crouch... he lost form as not an outside player & was dropped.

We gain absolutely nothing playing an struggling Keays on Cripps, as we already know how he plays.

If we are prioritising loss minimisation over rebuilding with no chance of playing finals, we are deadset morons.

Can't say I've seen too much evidence of him actually playing like a big bodied midfielder should...

& how many games have we played him in the guts?

We should be using the remaining games to learn something about the players we are not sure of, so we can make a call on them.

More than enough to know he hasn't really looked like playing like a "big bodied" midfielder at either AFL or SANFL.

Lol, 2 games is enough to tell.

So why are we still playing McHenry & Murphy as forwards after all this time..

I happen to watch SANFL games too and I've rarely seen evidence of him playing like you would expect a big bodied mid to play, he really doesn't use his size advantage even at the lower level.
