McAsey played the best game that I've seen him play. My only criticism was that he went to ground just about every time that he took a mark, which held up play.

Even in his draft highlights video he hits the deck after nearly every mark. Hard to provide much rebound when you do that so often.

Agree with most of this Vader, except for Frampton. Before the season started I would have traded him for a used 20c postage stamp. But he has shown a bit with ball in hand the last 2 weeks. Lots to work on the defensive side of his game, but might just be worth a bit more of a look.
Yes... his disposal is better than Murray's - but it's rendered irrelevant by the sheer number of opposition goals his defensive incompetence creates.

He failed in the forward line, now he's failed in defence too. Time to cut the dead wood at the end of the year.

B: Brown, Butts, Doedee
HB: Smith, Frampton, Dawson
C: Pedlar, Laird, Sholl
HF: Berry, Walker, Rowe
F: Rachele, Himmelberg, Gollant
R: Thilthorpe, Keays, Crouch
I/C: Jones, Hately, Cook, Murphy
Sub: Sloane

I know controversial, but more I think of it we can just ruck with Thilthorpe, Frampton and Himmelberg. ROB offers nothing around the ground...liability if anything. We give up a few cms to Soldo, but given we are currently losing every single hit out, and getting no around the ground pressure, I think it is a risk worth taking. Sloane to sub (I know this wont happen, but can dream). Crouch stays (only because Schoenberg has stunk it up last few weeks). I await being shut down by the forum ;)

goodluck with ROB being dropped, hes joined the list of untouchables, what a **** up of a 5 year deal.....1 good year in a year no one gave a shit about, and 1 and a half years of mediocrity, going well so far, unless this guy can magically ACQUIRE BASIC FOOTBALL SKILLS, he shouldn't even be playing.

Stuff this "let's save face and say they're being managed" business.

I want them to actually come out and say a senior player is omitted. It's fanciful and it won't happen, but if we drop a ROB, Crouch or Sloane I'd love to hear Nicks say they're out of form rather than trotting out that they're carrying a niggle and it's a long season.

Having watched all of our the SANFL and AFL sides games, I am truly baffled as to why Berry isn’t in the AFL team. His two SANFL matches have been very strong.

He is a beast inside, tackles strong and isn’t the slowest player going around. His handballing two weeks ago was reminiscent of Matt Crouch circa 2017 when he would release team mates into space forward of the play.

Berry absolutely belongs in the AFL team.

Out:
Billy (The Potato) Frampton
Chase (Rabbit in the headlights) Jones
Riley (I only play well when I'm out of contract) O'Brien
Ned (I have no left foot) McHenry

In:
Murray or the Fish or Borlase for the potato
Milera for the rabbit
Strachen for safe with my contract
McAdam for no left foot.

One of Sloane, Schoenburg or Crouch need to go out for Berry or Hately, but we all know that won't happen. Our midfield is treacle slow and just plain dumb.

Someone suggested THilthorpe as 1st Ruck. While I applaud the right field thinking and think its a brillant idea, the AFC frowns on such thinking and would never consider it in a million lifetimes.

Another change would be to teach Keays to kick on the run, but that is probably a bridge too far.

I don't know about destroyed but the Draper/Phillips combo did pretty well the week before against Max Gawn.
If that wasn't being destroyed, I don't know what is...

Rob was well beaten by rookie Meek too.

Yeah - he wont ever be Talia but dropping him now would hurt more than help. I would also like to see some more

Under the assumption there is no chance of Sloane being dropped and Hinge is injured, what I'd like to see is:

Out - ROB, Crouch, Hinge, Murphy to sub
In - Strachan, Berry, Hamill, Cook to starting

Jones, McHenry, Schoenberg on notice. Hately, Thilthorpe unlucky.

Reward good SANFL form. Demote based on poor form, regardless of seniority.

What i would like to see to reward form (won't happen)...

In - Out
Strachan - O'Brien
McAsey - Frampton
Worrell - Hinge (inj)
Berry - Sloane
Hately - Crouch
Cook - Schoenberg

B: Brown, Butts, Doedee
HB: Smith, McAsey, Jones
C: Sholl, Keays, Dawson
HF: Rowe, Himmelberg, Murphy
F: Gollant, Walker, Rachele
R: Strachan, Berry, Laird
I: Worrell, Hately, Cook, McHenry
Minimal changes for Mego Red

Ins - Outs
Strachan - O'Brien (can't tolerate getting smashed)
Worrell - Frampton (can't defend)
Berry - Schoenberg (have to reward form)
Cook - Hinge (injured)

B: Jones, Butts, Doedee
HB: Smith, Worrell, Sloane
C: Sholl, Keays, Dawson
HF: Rowe, Himmelberg, Murphy
F: Gollant, Walker, Rachele
R: Strachan, Berry, Laird
I: Brown, Crouch, Cook, McHenry

Worrell v Riewoldt; Butts v Lynch.

Move Sloane into defence to give Berry & McHenry midfield minutes. If he struggles, swap Murphy to defence.

Prefer Dawson to attack off a wing.

Just to repeat what a few others have said, I could handle O’Brien, McHenry, Jones, Sloane staying in.

But Berry must come in for Crouch.

We are gutless and unprofessional if we don’t do it.

Time to get serious, Nicks.
Yep - Matt has to go out this week

It’s the style of game he’s playing , no defensive stuff and handball happy slowing us up

His lack of versatility also , can’t place him anywhere else if he’s struggling in the middle

This is inherently what’s wrong with the club.
Automatically the more experience player comes back in.
No he needs to earn it.
Strachan gets a decent crack at it until ROB demands to be picked again.
I would play Strachan all year along with Thilthorpe. I've seen enough of ROB over the past 18 months to know that contract was a major mistake. I would also look for a young athletic developing ruck in the draft or trade.

I'm happy just to play the most in form ruckman.

At the moment, there is no way that ROB!

He needs to go back to the sanfl & demand is way back in the side.

Accepting regular poor performances by senior players sets poor culture & standards.

Has Milera ever shown his potential?

From what I’ve seen he panics when under pressure (mind you he is no orphan there in our team).
They are trying to rush milera back when there are other more deserving players in the Sanfl that should be promoted. Nick's insistence on overvaluing experience is starting to really annoy me. It's seems his sole goal is to increase our average games played stat. Milera's kicking disposal is not good and from what I have seen in the SANFL he's been underwhelming.

Milera has missed best part of 2 years of football.

Gather he has only played 1 decent sanfl game.

How about we wait til he has played a month of decent footy before bringing him back in.

There is no rush.

Hamill deserves to come in before Milera at the moment.
