Gotta drop ROB after his awful start to the season. As with Mchenry. Frampton was completely useless as expected.

Sloane will never be 'omitted'. He will play till the bitter end and fans have forgotten he was once a good player.

Out: ROB, Mchenry and Frampton
In: Strachan, Berry and Murray

Murray is a deck chairs change but I'm sick of spud Frampton.

Berry to play midfield and Sloane to half forward/bench.

Realistic is

Out: Hinge (injured)
In: Milera

Sub: Berry
Not sure that's realistic. The coaching staff have gone out of their way to talk up Berry, and Milera has gone unspoken on.

Suggesting we pick on SANFL form is unrealistic, we don't seem to do that
We brought in Cook, Gollant and Pedlar after their great trial game against Port.

I disagree, out of the two, you select Berry.

Whilst Hately played well, it wasn't exactly a performance that should have given you any confidence he has an AFL game in him.
He was absolutely dominant in the lower league.

If that's not what you're looking for, delist him now because he's too good already for SANFL.

The Blight, left field selection - Thilthorpe into the ruck for ROB? Would be hard for him to ruck predominately, but the taps we might lose are made up by having another potential tall forward when resting in the forward line.

Aside from that, Hinge out for Worrell, McHenry out for Pedlar and Schoenberg (sadly) out for Hately.

In Murray, McAsey, Berry, Hately, Worrell Strachan

Out Hinge inj, Sloane, Crouch, Jones, McHenry Rob

F. Murphy Himmelberg Rowe
HF. Rachele Walker Gollant
C. Dawson Berry. Sholl
HB. Smith Murray Laird
B. McAsey Butts Doedee
Ruck. Strachan Keays Schoenberg
Inter. Worrell Brown Frampton Cook
Sub Hately
Why don't you just name the reserves side? Suggest we do 22 changes?

We lost by a kick, they're not going to make six changes.

Plus, you brought in four talls and only dropped one, FFS.

I don't hate the idea of Crouch and Schoenberg potentially going back to the SANFL.

Go get some easy possession, start running to the right spots and get yourself back in decent form. No harm in it.

Personally, I'd rest ROB. Pretend he's carrying an injury. Nurse him through the season and trade him to the Bulldogs.

Oh we should absolutely, 100%, delist Hately once we get the opportunity to do so. The lads got very little that will transition, unless we want a taller Matt Crouch (which is pretty meh).

Also, he hasn't been "absolutely dominant", nor is he "too good for the SANFL". Both are not reflective of Hatelys record at SANFL level. Berry and Thilthorpe? You can make that argument. Hately was pretty eh last week against Port Adelaide (before he was subbed), and had plenty of rough games last year.

Unforced changes is unrealistic. They won't bring in Berry as he's not like for like with Hinge. Milera plays an outside/defensive role and is experienced.

If Crouch or Sloane was injured, or we lost by more, it would be realistic to bring in Berry

Anyone willing to suggest anything realistic?

Zero chance a rebuilding club drops it's captain.

Close to zero that they drop Crouch, but MAYBE. He's had a long time out and he's not really impacting. They could see it as a way for him to find his feet in a lower stress environment.

ROB could perhaps be rested for a week, as he just doesn't seem physically up to it.

Jones and McHenry were better, so they probably stay. I think Frampton stays for a couple more weeks, until McAsey is really demanding it.
We always do what should happen, not what the club will do. Sloane shoulde be in the Bs next week.

I assume he took Hinges spot today. He looked to be on the wing in some vision
Dawson went back today I thought, Cook to the wing

The worry for Sloane is that he hasn't looked good in brief stints up forward or down back either. There's not a role we can ease him sideways into.
Can we convince him that Fwd pocket in the twos is "sideways"?

How versatile is Cook?

Could he slip into Hinge's spot across half back?

Assuming Hinge is out of course

I mean, he's an outside mid, so he could do it. We haven't ever opted in that direction in the SANFL though, as we've always seen Cook as a forward/wing.

What I would do…

Out: Hinge (inj), Sloane, Crouch, Jones

In: Cook, Berry, Worrell, Hamill
Sub: Hately
Emg: Milera, Soligo, Strachan

What will likely happen…

Out: Hinge (inj), Gollant, Cook
In: Hately, Thilthorpe
Sub: Worrell

Sloane and Crouch are liabilities at this point with their complete lack of pace, agility and kicking skills, and the way the coach refused to remove them from centre bounces for Schoenberg despite them continually being embarrassed by their opponents today was arguably the difference between winning and losing.

Berry continuing to rot in the SANFL and not even making the emergency list is baffling. He play him on the ball for a full game instead of Crouch and you tell me who is more effective, both offensively and defensively.

Out:
  • ROB
  • Hinge (Injured)
  • Crouch (should be Sloane but 0 chance of it happening.)

In:
  • Strachan
  • Berry
  • Milera

Not desperate to bring Milera in but realistically it's who is more likely & I'm not totally oppose to it even if his first match back was rusty. Berry deserves a run as does Crouch in the 2's to show he can dominate there if he wants a game in the AFL again. Strachan looked decent last year and ROB hasn't been good with today being pretty putrid so we really should try it. I would actually make a couple more changes but there's no chance they make any more than 3, realistically only likely to change 2 players in or out at most.

Thin Ice:
  • Jones at the very least might benefit from a reminder he's not guaranteed a spot as well as to hopefully find more of the ball and get a bit of touch back.
  • McHenry same as above largely.
  • Brown has been a liability in 2 matches this year, hopefully not another player at the Crows cooked before 30.
  • Frampton is good with ball in hand, liability defensively & his temper.

Players We Need To Bring In Soon:
  • Tilthorpe played 2 good ones in the SANFL.
  • McCasey sounds like he played a bit better, need to give him another crack at AFL even if its just to see if his level can lift when he comes up. One more good one in SANFL & I'd swap him in for Frampton to get a look.
  • Worrel sounds like he has also played some good matches so needs a crack again soon for more than 1 match this time.

'yeah listen Sloaney needed the run and we'll back him in again. He is our Captain and he knows that today wasnt good but again he is a warrior and he will bounce back'

'Smithers had a bit of the flu but we thought he would be ok once he said he was ok. He will be better next week. He is a warrior and will bounce back'

'Rob competed well and it was just a few moments where he fell down. He is a warrior and will bounce back

Changes : Cook - Out Hately -In. Hinge (inj) Berry
Are these legitimate?

Dont reckon we'll make too many changes this week as a loss by under a goal away is no disgrace.

If we lose at home I expect a few changes will come after that (and if we win against a resurgent Richmond, all good I suppose, we'll have to keep the crew).
