What I Would Do:
  • Drop O'Brien - he's struggling, time to give Strachan a crack
  • Drop/Delist Frampton - McAsey cannot be a worse defender
  • Drop/Delist/Payout Sloane his time long over, going down the selfish Thommo path.
  • Drop/Trade Crouch - Laird & Keays are better midfielders and we need to bring on the next generation of mids.
  • Drop Rowe - need some pace, bring in McAdam or Newchurch.

Nicks has persisted for 2 and a bit years with this same senior midfield setup - it is NOT working. Even those that are right behind Nicksy must find it strange he keeps the same setup that continues to fail.

What The Club might find palatable:
  • Sloane: Becomes the permanent medi-sub for the rest of the season, he can play forward, back or mid. Doesn't matter if he doesn't come on - saves a youngster missing a game.
  • Laird: Takes his old spot off Jones, yes he is our 2nd best mid but Crouch can't play anywhere else and Keays is our best mid and lets face it Jones is a bust.
  • Give Ned & Murph a decent go in the middle they are both deplorable forwards so we might as well find out if they can really play as midfielders - which we can do without dropping any senior players.
  • Add Berry to the forward/midfield rotation.
  • Drop Billy and get McAsey in.
So all we would need to do is drop Jones for Berry and Billy for McAsey.

What the Club Will Do:
Unchanged, back the boys in to respond (may also include dropping one or more under 21 Y.O.)

The definition of insanity doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.

ROB gets a week off, and Strachan gets a game or two.

Matt Crouch gets a month in the SANFL. Let's try Berry, as he also brings some defensive efforts.

Hamill in for Hinge.

Gibcus looked good last night.
I wouldn’t mind seeing him have a rest soon.
will be a good player, but very young.
reckon thilthorpe would excel in a game like this.

Funny how every week we are going to see Drop Crouch, even when he makes the best Players list,
There is no way he will be dropped this week,
And before someone mentions it's only a staff writer in the AFL that named him in the best, Look again.

My main criticism of Crouch is he takes too long to move the ball on which stops momentum and allows the opposition to man up. He isn't the only player in our side guilty of it.

I doubt Crouch was in the best players today by anyone with a clue who was watching the game.

Imo, at least 1 of Crouch & Sloane on their current form needs to make way for a form Sanfl player.

Sloane is the one who should be dropped, but we don't like dropping captains.

Relying only on internal, subjective player ratings and performance appraisals, that when viewed from outside are disconnected from reality, and the constant drive to only bring "Crows people" into the club in management roles, all stem from the same toxic management practises.

Crouch was absolutely pathetic, and anyone who includes him in the best players from that game has absolutely no idea what they’re talking about.

B: Brown, Butts, Frampton
HB: Jones, Doedee, Smith
C: Dawson, Laird, Sholl
HF: McHenry, Himmelberg, Sloane
F: Thilthorpe, Walker, Rachele

R: O'Brien, Keays, Crouch
I: Berry, Murphy, Gollant, Schoenberg
Sub: Hately
Emergency: Hately, Milera, Rowe

In: Berry, Thilthorpe
Out: Rowe, Hinge

Hinge will miss this week due to injury allowing Berry to come in and Rowe makes way for Thilthorpe.

Himmelberg is genuinely starting to look dangerous up forward and with Thilthorpe and Walker, it will stretch the defence. Rowe unlucky but Thilthorpe genuinely will increase our scoring potential.

What on earth is this fascination with McAsey? The lad has played two good games in the last year and a half. If you're looking for key defenders, go back to Murray at this point in time.

Gotta get sometime to chase Shai Bolton around

Yep, although McAsey was ok this weekend. Not our best KPD, but didn’t drop his chin which is a massive improvement for him.

Out: O’Brien Crouch McHenry
In: Strachan Berry Cook

As always, Sub: Davis

[Worrell for Hinge if his cork is no good]

This is what I would like to see also.
Strachan and Berry working in the centre bounces.
Out with ROB and Crouch.
ROB not offering anything in the ruck and his marking around the ground is nowhere near 2021
Crouch, just lacks running power and no hurt factor with his disposal
We have enough small forwards with Rachele, Rowe and Murphy, we don't need McHenry, doesn't offer enough
Cook needs game time and has impact with his possessions
