I wasn't expecting much out of Reidy, but was still disappointed.

The handballs to grass or behind team mates really showed which of our players are classy and which are workmen.

Our defenders made a lot of mistakes. A lot.

Our midfield was a step behind for almost all the game so our forwards looked rubbish and oru backs looked rubbish.

Ins: Chapman (mind boggling call to play him behind worner and Wagner), Bolton, Walters
Ours: Worner, Reidy, Banfield.

Play cox forward or bring in Voss, he was a liability today.

Thin ice: Walker, O’Meara

Boys at the peel pre season game should be licking their lips, spots are up for grabs.

We can’t bring in Young and Darcy soon enough

I expect to see something pathetic like

Out: Reidy, Switkowski
In: Voss, Walters

Doubt we see Bolton

If we don’t add another midfielder to the team we’ve already lost IMO. We probably have anyway but you probably get my point.

If we go in with nine defenders again I’ll also be angry. It should be seven defenders in the 22 - given the strength of those defenders compared to available mids and forwards I don’t mind the eighth being the sub.

Also Reidy is the no.1 or he’s dropped. Simple as that.

O’Meara really shouldn’t be getting discussed in this thread today.

I don't mind Wagner staying in, yes he might make a few mistakes but he tries to move the ball quickly and take the game on. Compare that to someone like Karl Worner who I struggle to see what he even brings to the team besides having a bit of "versatility".

Banfield and Reidy didn't look up to it and thought Treacy/Amiss were well below their best. Need to come out firing next week or it could be a very long season.
Murphy Reid should play every game barring injury, very clever footballer 👏.

Geelong aren’t that good. We didn’t play well.
It’s a 78 point loss but I’m not too worried about this one as the players were all cramping up in the last quarter and put the cue in the rack. Get Darcy, Young, Bolton back in there and we will be fine.
With the exception of ALex Pearce, this was the worst out backline has played in a while. I don’t think Luke Ryan is fit. Draper had a shocker. Clark provided no run. Walker continues to make poor decisions which cost us goals.

I am confident we won’t play that badly again.
Jeez you're optimistic. Since when is it ever okay for players to give up and put the cue in the rack? We should be able to manage the heat considering where they live and train.

Imo were looking at another 10+ goal loss next week and then west coast truly believing they can beat us the week after and possibly doing it

Out: Amiss, Worner, Switkowski, Banfield, Cox
In: Voss, Erasmus, Chapman, Bolton, Walters

Reidy was fine.
Reidy was shocking. Useless in the middle. Does nothing once he taps the ball down. And when he does get the ball around the ground he does **** all with it. Him kicking straight to Stewart when we should've been going inside 50 and cutting the margin even closer was the start of the end for us. Not to mention him handballing straight into a geelong player on the 50m line another time we had numbers i50. More than half of his massive SIX disposals went to the opposition. He does not deserve to play next week.

Yes, the midfield looked incredible thin, really missed Young and Fyfe providing a big body in there.

O'Driscoll will be a player, but his inexperience showed. For now he is a winger that should rotate in, not a starting mid.

I'm kind of glad one of our Mulligans came against Geelong in Geelong round 1. This team needed that wake up call.

Really concerning how poor Treacy, Pearce, Amiss, and Cox were. These are the pillars that the rest of the team is built around, if they aren't performing, everyone else suffers. Darcy missing just adds to that.

Reidy was attempting to guard space at the contest, but he looked like a wrestling referee standing over the teenagers actually contesting, meanwhile his opponent sat 2m away behind him for the easy release handball and clearance.

Seriously, he was not offering anything at the drop and ended up blocking Freo players defending his man.

I reckon that’s a pessimistic view. We will probably be favourites for the Sydney game and get Bolton back.

Amiss and Cox were poor. Treacy and Pearce did well considering the way the game was going.

Reidy is utterly pointless if he's not the no1. Massive red flag when he wasn't at the first center bounce.

We are going to be struggling a lot until Young and Darcy get back.

And even then both are coming of zero pre season so we'll be struggling for a lot longer.

Pearce also looks like unfit baby deer 2023 AP. Cox also looks ****. Even Treacy and Amiss look miles off it.

Basically we're ****ed.

100% I am flabbergasted we played Reidy as a second ruck. That alone is utterly idiotic.
