Jackson, Amiss and Sturt as the key forwards?
Would get monstered by Barrass, McGovern and Hurn.
May be the week NOT to drop Tabs. Need a decent sized body down there to compete.
I saw the north vs evils game live & mclovin played on Curtis, but paid him absolutely no attention.
The Roos could easily have moved their other forwards away & kicked to Curtis who was essentially unmanned because mclovin was zoning off to intercept.
I reckon kick to mclovin's man a few times & he will not be zoning off any more.
Don't make him accountable & he will feast on our forward entries

Agree with most here. I also do not understand calls for Treacy to come back in. In 5 games in 2 years he has taken 10 marks and kicked 2 goals. He is good for crashing packs and a contest, that is not what we need at the moment.
Henry has been a shining light and I know will take some time to win some people over, but he is one of our most likely to hit up targets in the forward 50, and seems willing to take the game on.

Noddy needs to come in if fit, and Walker would be some extra run and carry out of the backline. Will make some clangers, but we have to back our mids to win the contest 50\50 at a minimum and give our forwards a decent chance.

We should put a player on Kelly. I think if we limit Kelly's output you are a third the way toward beating them. He was good against GWS. You back your own game, but you need to give attention to the opposition too. If Tabs is not 100% then he can go out until fit. Concerning he has been subbed out twice. Reality is we need him presenting down the ground as an option, even a decoy for that release at times.

Think within the four walls the club has identified a lack of cohesion as the big issue. Hayden Young just mentioned to the media that they had a BBQ together on Sunday to stay connected. And at the captains run on Friday I noticed some players wearing different numbers which is an old team building exercise, that’s just a small pattern I’ve noticed

No doubt the club underestimated the impact of losing four key players would have not only on the field but also off the field.

Last year the club selected players based on we were still building but this year they are selecting because they think we are contending and that is evident with the Ethan Hughes on the wing selection.

Time to get back on selecting players for the future, it’s Erasmus, Johnson and sturts time.

If we are going to be rubbish this year we may as well be rubbish and develop the youth.

Let's face it. We are not finals bound.

Very lucky Tabs marked it. Had three better options and took too long to pull the trigger
This is a bit of storytelling. He literally took three steps. Enough to get balance (including a slight evasive step away from the North defender who was running at him closing down the space). Who were the better options? He hit a leading forward, who took it on his chest 40m out slight angle.
Completely fair but he's been a lot better at that this year. Has taken some noticeably big hits and put his body on the line as needed for the most part. Still something he needs to keep getting better at to be at the required level
I don't know if you need all your players being contested beasts. Especially young players starting via outside positions.
His kicking has improved a little but his decision - making hasn't. You really truly don't want him as a part of your team transition. It reminds me of when watching Peel play a few years ago. As soon as a Peel( as opposed to Freo player) was a link in the transition, it broke down.
Was his kicking ever really an issue? I don't think there's too much evidence to support the decision-making being a problem either. Having a proper look at his involvements and the balance of it shows his decision-making is high quality. More often than not his involvement finds a player in space.

As long as they don't get out on the field and start flipping each other's sausages in an effort to stay connected I'll be happy.

This is why I never got the way teams copied that one first team(don't know who) that separated backs, mids & fwd at 1/4 & 3/4 time, then complained about a disconnect between the lines

I'd love to have a count of how many handballs missed targets, fumbled receives, dropped marks, 2,3,4,5 touch collects etc we had in that game. It's phenomenal how often those little stutters appear. Every few seconds just about. If we could nail the one-touch plays, our ball movement would be that much faster and put the opposition under so much more pressure.

When we are winning the ball quickly out of the centre the likes of Tabs, Amiss are unstoppable beacuse they can lead or fight one on one. When we take the long way home from the back line with ahalf a dozen uncontested backline marks, these guys are completely blanketed.

Our mids need to lift. North were waltzing out of the centee square with the ball on the weekend.

I don’t think Heath Chapman will be playing this week...

Heard he's still rolling and just crossed the Nullarbor after getting bumped by LDU.
jeez id hoped that was mostly him trying to milk a free kick or something rather than an actual discrepancy in strength, cause that would be embarrassing

Banfield for Sturt - easy one

Walters in - amiss out, not quite ready yet

Walker for Chapman - controversial but he's not offering enough imo, Wilson is showing dash and we need that, young to play taller

O'Meara to wing/hff, Hughes out, noddy/Johnson in (one sub whoever is least ready, yes we can debut Johnson as sub if needed for a half)

Brodie out for erasmus, remove Erasmus' kicking license, needs to use his hands (unless he is 55 out, he can have a ping)

If taberner is injured then him for Treacy otherwise leave it

Lines up like this
Ryan Cox Walker
Young Pearce Wilson
Noddy/MJ brayshaw Henry
Sturt Taberner Switta
Schulz Jackson Walters
Darcy Serong Aish
Clark O'Meara Freddy Erasmus
Johnson/Noddy sub

Depending who is ready out of noddy or Johnson changes the makeup of the team, Johnson ready then he plays more inside, noddy ready then aish/switta goes more in

Just feel like both Tabs and Banners need a spell for Sturt and Corbett. Both move well, goal sense and both stand around 190. Both would be able to crumb and ground level.

Those 2 with Amiss and a resting ruck would be formidable. JOM, Freddy and Walters going through there too.

Walker must be put back in the side...He is only real line breaker in Our backline...

Walker is very instinctive when he gets his hands on the footy (that instinct is often wrong) but his first instinct is to take off.

We've been desperately missing that the past two weeks.

I genuinely feel that if:
1. Walker doesnt play.
and
2. We dont change the mix up forward.

We may actually be doomed with having a shit coach. I've thought he was great from day one with the odd exception here or there, but i think he needs to make some real changes and they need to happen this week.
