Changes Round 4

I would like to see some bigger bodies come in.
Tuck must play. Edwards out for him.
I would also like to see Browne in and I don't care what his form has been like. Plonk him in the ruck and have Gus down forward where he has shown that he can take a mark and kick a goal. Let Vickery roam across half forward.

FIND a lot of the comments on Nahas intriguing – and somewhat unsubstantiated.
I’ll confess I don’t rate the guy that highly and if I was to name what I think is our best 22, I wouldn’t find room for him.
And of course there’s that old chestnut – he won’t be a part of our next premiership team, so why play him?
BUT …. Be that as it may, Nahas EARNED a gig for round one with some impressive efforts in the pre-season and clearly shown more than MOST in our first three games.
For mine he’s one gouy who has taken his chance and run with it and the fact that he is showing up a few of the so-called better players and Big Footy poster boys seems to not sit so well with some people.
His form is better than 80 per cent of our list at this stage and warrants selection!

I agree mate.
I also find the 'He won't be a part of our next premiership team' line irritating. Brent Harvey won't be a part of North's next premiership team either. Does that mean he should not play?

Exactly. I mean Chris Judd wont be part of Carltons next premiership team but they wont drop him.

I've always had question marks on Nahas ability to win a greater percentage of contests that he's involved !
It's hard to deny that his contested possession stats have risen , however so has the amount of contests his been in !

Actually we came out with a very competitive clearance ratio, just lost it or just won it, I can't remember. The biggest problem was how we cleared it... mostly just bombed it forward whereas the Hawks kept their composure, spread well and delivered with purpose.

Minimal changes because changing 20% of your team each week generally results in losses.... (see first half 2010 for Tigers and Essendon 2010 for evidence of this).

Miller, Thursty, Browne and probably Tuck will not play in a premiership at Richmond so get games into the ones that will be around when we are pushing for finals. That is Grimes, Batchelor and Astbury. Edwards and Connors I agree with being sent to the Burgers. Conca maybe if he is showing signs of fatigue....

Fair comment but the way we are going neither will the rest of our list so why do we constantly single out these blokes....

Well I suppose it's a bit harsh on Tucky... I really like him, think he should be in every week. I still think we need to develop Grimes and Astbury over Thursty though (although looks like all three will play against the Maggies). Browne I'm not convinced of yet, especially with this stupid sub rule, I think Derickx will be a decent player more capable of resting forward than Browne.

Does Cotchin really average 11 turnovers per game? If so that is truely terrible

It's saying on our stats sheet that he's had 7 clangers for the season, wouldn't they also count as turn overs if so he shouldn't he have 33 going by that average?

Hey Gents, im a good mate of Luke McGuanes changes this week that i know are:

OUT Connors (ankle) rolled at training
INS Miller and Thursfield i dont know who the other out is though. Also heard that Jolly is out of Collingwoods team if true that massive for us

Probably sounds about rIght. I would say for balence the other would have to be Morton. What about Tuck?

spot on lover...Morton the other out

Look I'm all for developing the kids but I'd love to see Tucky in for this game to try and avoid a complete routing.

He will go mental when unleashed.

Personally, am happy to save him for our real opportunities coming in the next 10 or so weeks.

Changes are:

In – Will Thursfield, Brad Miller

Out: Daniel Connors (Leg), Mitch Morton

Richmond

B: Chris Newman, David Astbury, Reece Conca

HB: Brett Deledio, Will Thursfield, Jake Batchelor

C: Trent Cotchin, Dustin Martin, Shane Edwards

HF: Jake King, Tyrone Vickery, Shaun Grigg

F: Bradley Helbig, Jack Riewoldt, Bachar Houli

Foll: Angus Graham, Daniel Jackson, Nathan Foley

I/C: Matthew White, Robin Nahas, Dylan Grimes, Brad Miller

Emg: Shane Tuck, Matt Dea, Ben Nason

Honestly this club is very harsh on some players, very lenient on others. Morton has been better than Edwards, conca, Helbig, and we know can kick goals, as reported Houli and Grigg have had games where they didn't lay tackles.

Mitch treated very harsh and Hardwick has backed away from playing him up the wing, as we know he is a proven goal kicker and can be a cringing
Goal kicker. Tuck is also very stiff to miss out.

Happy with Thursty and Miller in
