Lol watch Wines' kick at full back to hit dbj lace out on the tit even though mckay was in the vicinity in the dying minutes of the game to start a chain. Any deviation in thar kick and we lose the game. Rockcliff would never hit that he would of probably gone to mayes 15m away from the kicker or backwards

Was a very good kick and great to see him lace one out. Although it was a poor handball from Wines that was cut off from a Carlton player who has their kick marked by butters on the goal-line to set it all up to start with. Really that handball shouldve ended up with the Carlton player kicking a goal or hitting the bloke 20m away free in the 50 which wouldve led to a set shot and 30 secs off the clock. Either of those happen and we wouldve lost.

I think the hate for the handpass is too much. Wines was facing away from the direction we needed to get the ball in a hurry and see he's given the handpass to SPP who is inboard and appears in a decent amount of space running away from the clearance. Cunningham makes a good stride in to intercept and forces the turnover. He could probably have hit Betts up in the pocket, but would have taken some amazing vision to have been able to see him running out of the pack. A handpass being picked off in traffic is far less egregious an error than missing the two misses by Dixon and Marshall (who I thought played great), but the Wines hate sees him cop it far worse.

Just about every Port player was dead on their feet and it was good anticipation by the Carlton player to read the handball that was intended for SPP. It's not as if Ollie handed him the ball.

Time to see some of the class of 2019 please I would like to have mini choppy picket to come in but hopefully we can get him home soon enough.
That 2 pick downgrade is possibly the only mistake of the last to yrs.
Hopefully Bergman can make that a mute point.

Some good points made and I agree with all of that, but these are still moments which hold Ollie back from being a good player to very good. A fumble here and there and handballs to a players feet when he has time and space etc. Just really hoping one day it clicks and he cleans those things up.

So why not look for some more of that enthusiasm. If Marshall and Ryder are going to ruck, pay Ladhams and Hayes if Lycett isn't fit. Give big Lurch a go and watch the players get around him. Hoff gets a rest and a rocket.

If Georgi boy is fit, pick him.

A squad will win the flag this year, not the best 22-25. Put some games into guys that have been putting in, so that come late in the year and if we make finals, they have had a taste of it and are ready to go if injuries and form mean we need to make changes.

My sentiments exactly. No SANFL, compressed rounds coming up, why not get some games into some of the second tier players, 1 or 2 a week, so we further develop our depth.

Ebert in for Motlop is obvious.

Lycett in for Westhoff (not Ladhams) if fit. I'm generally not a fan of playing the two specialist rucks, but Ladhams offers us no less around the ground than Westhoff is offering us right now, and will offer a lot more in the ruck contests themselves. It's worth a try. If it fails, a rested Westhoff can come back in.

What to do with Burton is the question. Seems like as good a time as any to bring Watts back? We've already had McKenzie and Mayes come back from the dead to make quality contributions this year, why not see if Watts can recapture his best form. The extra height will be handy against St Kilda's tall forwards too.

Ladhams nor Lycett have shown enough to me as a forward. I think you can hide one pure ruck and one ruck forward on your side but I don't think you can 2

Both are AFL capable ruckman in their own right. I'm excited for the future Hayes/Ladhams duo though too.

For me

Ebert for Motlop

Lycett for Ladhams (If fit)

Then would love to see Bergman come in for Burton. Is watts still in isolation after having to go back to Vic?

O and I'm already ducking in cover

If Westhoff isn't fit bring in Georgiades

With Marshall then playing the Westhoff role of going down back as the extra tall as Westhoff as the last few weeks with Georgiades playing Marshall's role

I have a feeling that Lycett will be out for another week or 2. It is important to get his body right for later on in the season, particularly when we come up against Collingwood and Richmond.
