I do wonder was what Lachie thinks about Freo. He stayed with us because he thought it was his best chance of winning a premiership.

If he was with Freo, they'd be unbeatable. In my opinion.

Bit of a weird post Gadzorks.

If Lachie & our forward line all asked for a trade maybe they'd be unbeatable. Just Lachie though? Don't agree.

Plus, why are Freo a greater chance than us of a premiership?

Are you letting the media & general footy hype influence your judgement?

A lot of water to go under the bridge in this season, and I think we've demonstrated we're a pretty bankable reliable team. Plus we've been there & done it before over a whole season.

If Freo can keep this up & be consistent for the whole season then well done, but that's an unknown, they have lost games at home. They have been dominated more than us in their losses.

I think we're traveling fine. Top of the ladder mid season while not really hitting our straps yet. That time will come (touch wood, injuries permitting).

With Gawn out, going in with two rucks and really working them over makes sense.

I disagree. If Big O can take Ryder & Marshall he can go it alone this week.

Plus, it leaves more opportunity to bring in Lester. ;)

As a general in defence, on a wing, heck, you'd be happy for him to play forward pocket wouldn't you?

If play Lester in the ruck if it meant he got a game 😉
Don’t forget that great goal he kicked in the final against Footscray last year!

I'm doing weird a lot ATM.

I guess I believed that we were a class above Freo so I've been 'shocked' by their year. So far.

I don't think they are better than us, but they are way ahead of where I had placed them. My thought was maybe 6-10th this year.

Figure many underrated them, and interviews came out with him and the club saying he wanted a premiership and was staying to get it.

So maybe what I meant was if lachie knew that freo were rising this fast, would it have changed his decision?

Depends.

How much of what Freo got from trading Neale is responsible for where they are now?

Would Freo have had the same draft hand in 2019 if they had kept Neale?

I’m pretty sure Freo would have had no intention of trading any of their picks from last year for Neale.

Freo are playing great footy in June & I am happy to see them do just that....in June.

I can't see them playing this brand of footy for the rest of the season and I am much more comfortable seeing us playing the way we are (& on top of the ladder) and still winning while playing well below our best....in June.

If we continue to play the way we are currently in late August, I will be a little less excited about our prospects than I am right now. That said, I am super excited and very grateful for how our team is performing right at this time. From where we were just a few years ago to where we are right now, how could any Lions supporter not be grateful? Go Lions.

I think the elephant in the room is, what if this is or is close to our best? I believe that Joe and Hipwood to name 2 will improve after their injuries but we have a few of our older and/or more experienced players not at what we perceive to be their best, that could be the best they can offer us this year.

There is that question mark over where & when is our best coming out to play. I dont think we are at our best by a long way yet.

We all know Harris is better than what he is showing, Zorko is playing with a niggling injury, Dizzy has been riddled with one injury after another, Dev Robbo continues to get better, Lohman will soon be ready to come back, Berry playing well despite having an obvious shoulder niggle, Rayner just now showing us how good he is going to be, Coleman slotting into the backline nicely, we need Bailey to contribute more and be more consistent, same with McStay & Adams, Answerth still plenty of room to improve.

This, Hipwood & Daniher on the way back from injury and more that I haven't mentioned gives me confidence we have a significant more improvement than most opposition clubs.

* that guy has had a s**t run!!!!poor guy that hurts.
Yes he has.

I know the club has stated nothing to do with the back/rib damage which prevented him from playing second half against Freo the previous week, but can't help but think he was not 100% for St Kilda game, and with a six day turn around and an upcoming bye, would have been prudent playing Payne or Lester (if Payne was not 100% with ankle) against Saints and resting Dizzy.

Hi Folks
Sorry if this question has already been asked and answered. We are heading down next Thursday for the match and was just looking at the Ticketek website and it seems the only seats available (requested best available) are behind the goals at $75 each. No problem paying that amount, just was looking for a better angle to watch the game from. Forecast is for 17% chance of rain so not so worried about undercover seating.
Any advice appreciated.

Hmmmmm, I wonder why crowds are dropping!?

Agree. The AFL have lost touch with the supporters who ultimately have made this game the best in the country. AFL supporters should be shown love, consideration & appreciated instead of being taken for granted like they have been now for quite a few years.
honestly with snow season a Melb v anyone game not going to be packed ha ha
No idea why so much $.. add the $3-$5 service fee to buy online..
Which is a rip off. Why you pay more for tickets footy or cinemas online rather then go up to someone at the gate that they pay for.

Edit also you go around the ground seems only a few bays to buy from. M4, M53, M10,M11,M12 then level 1 behind other goals N32-N36
I cannot see it that packed

SO much for The game of the people, for the people.

Thanks all - what an absolute joke. About 5 or 6 places in "the home of football" to book for a premium seat or you take a punt on General Admission which they only publish on the MCG website the day before - so who know where you end up.

The MCG is the MCG members ground and the AFL members ground. To get a good seat you've got to be in one of these members areas

The way they call it the people's ground really annoys me.

Yeah it's bizarre. I was able to use some family members AFL memberships to buy tickets and they were 10-20 dollars each. I feel like that should be extended to every AFL member for games they aren't going to sell out.

Its great when I go with friends in the Members, but if I go by myself the seating options do suck. Marvel is much much better viewing options for the average person

...hey you guys, the AFL have tried to make it easier for folks to get to games......you'll be able to get a paper ticket now!

..that will solve the problem, no worries.

o_O:rolleyes::roflv1:
