Yep, not to mention we had Daw who could have filled in for Waite weeks ago, and thus got more game time while Waite recovered.
Yes totally agree, Maj needs as much game time as possible could have been getting that while Waite was rested, Maj could have been rotated through the forward line while helping out Goldy with ruck duties its not as if Brown and Drew have been setting the world on fire.

Club needs to manage players right to give us the best chance of making a double chance in the finals.

Probably just me but i still think north are strong chance in this one. Yes we will need 22 contributors but when I look at our team from line to line its not so bad.

Daw will come in as forward/ruck and will also spend some time in the guts as a rover, he will be a clearance beast.

I am convinced Ray has come into this team purely as a tagger, he will be Mitchell's shadow and if it is not well somebody better be.
Our defenders are still there with plenty of run of half back.

Forwards are still strong but we will need the three talls to have good games with one having a blinder.

Yes our midfield is hampened but it couldnt be worse than last week, but the positive is our best ball users in Wells and Dal Santo are still in, so if we can break even in the clearance we will be more than a chance.

Goldstein will be huge.

Strap yourself in lads, if we win tomorrow it would be our best under Scott. And be damned if I am going in to friday night football negative.

Ziebell will be best on ground. By a margin. Skippers game.

him being able to play predominantly forward and not have to ruck could really help his form especially now he will be number 2

One of the comments made about our lack of goals up forward has been that teams have worked out our patterns and know how and where we are going to play so this weeks forward structure if nothing else will be very difficult for Hawks to prepare for (i Hope) you add in our solid backline the number 1 ruckman with decent support and Boomer and you would have to say we should be able to make a decent fist of this game.......hopefully an anal intruding fist that will be shoved right up Hawthorns clacker :straining: go North make their eyes :'(

It's the Swallow AND Cunnington outs that are the killer. We can replace Nahas, we can replace Waite. If Dumont had a chance to run with either Swallow or Cunnington then I'd still give us a solid chance. But with the two of them out we lose too much of our fundamental midfield structure. It is too much slack for a young fella to pick up. Hopefull, but I got a feeling the game will run a bit like last Saturday night.

5 injuries

Squib$on on Daw.

I will drive 5 hours for dat.

This has 'the Ablett corale game' all over it.
Round 11, 2008. Under strength North played the Cats in a thriller on Friday night at the Docklands.
We lost by a couple of kicks in the end but pushed them all night.
Ablett got 45 touches.
Mooney kicked 7.
Boomer was everywhere.

The good news is there is no Ablett and the Ablettesque performance was by Danger last week.
Doubt Gunston will kick 7 this week.

Bring this the **** on!!

Gotta wonder if playing a clearly hampered Waite the last month was the wrong move both short and medium term.

Yep a real poor decision and one almost worthy of a post in the ' sack Scotts ' thread. I know Crocker hasn't been overly happy with selection lately.

I hope he isn't falling into bad habits prior to him having an operation last year. When Crocker took over some things were changed and people took notice. I trust Brad though we haven't had Kanga lotto Thursday's for a long time

Interesting that tippet is named as an emergency.

I posted during the week about the possibility of tippet playing allowing Thompson to play small.
who would we rather tippo or hansen? overall tippo is not better bit seems to do things better but hansen is an elite mark and intercept mark
