Out: Wallis, Hannan, JUH
In: Naughton, Dunkley, McNeil

Hannan just doesn’t do anything. Sadly I think the game has gone past Wallis. JUH I wouldn’t be against staying in and Young making way instead but I feel like him sitting for so long in the 4th was a bit of foreshadowing. The two other times I recall that happening this year were Buku in his debut and Sweet against Melbourne. Both were dropped the next game.

Naughton and Dunkley walk in assuming they’re fit. I’ll back Dunks to come straight into the seniors, being a shoulder issue he would have kept some base fitness and we know how diligent he would have been. McNeil back in to give us some pace that we lacked on the weekend

For a bloke asked to start as a KPD, then also be the chop-out ruck, and also several times swing forward, I thought Young was ok. He competed in the air, seemed more assured in several contests (think his in/out team status doesn't do his confidence any favours) and can at least get off the ground at centre bounces to provide a reasonable contest. While Cordy has a bit more campaigner in him, I'd favour Young atm. Personally, if Naughton is back, I'd keep Young in the side - valuable in multiple rows. And rather Young being the chop-out ruck than Bruce - keep Bruce forward.

JUH was a million times more dangerous than Wally and Hannan, offers far more defensive pressure than Hannan. Watched both closely and they’re ****ing bog average. Get them out of this side ffs it makes no sense. Wallis is just the slowest most unskilled player in the side and Hannan offers literally nothing. Yet to see all those blocks the bloke offers, he’s not just a witches hat he literally gets in peoples way and then his only go is “get ball kick at goal” which he ****ing sucks at anyway.

Suns have no recognised ruck. We can keep JUH in cause of it.

FB: Williams, Cordy, Duryea
HB: Dale, Keath, Richards
C: Daniel, Libba, Hunter
HF: Smith, Naughton, JJ
FF: JUH, Bruce, Weightman
R: English, Bont, Macrae
Int: McLean, Young, Garcia, Scott

obviously if Dunkley is good to go he can come back in for maybe scott.

Decision to drop Toby was bs. He’s a much superior player to Wallis and Hannan.

Dunkley should be right to go

A few are saying drop Cordy. I wouldn’t. I thought our backline were very good. It was their midfielders who kicked many of their goals, wingers especially. Our wings and kids and flankers must get defensive when needed.
Naughts and Martin will be big inclusions will help settle our structure. Not so many easy rebounds with Naughts in would have made a lor of difference IMO

If we are set on the three tall backs and three tall forwards structure for finals we need to keep it. English can ruck and swap with Bruce this week given gold coast lack a ruckman.

B: cordy keath duryea
HB: dale young Williams
C : Hunter Bont Smith
HF: Garcia Bruce Daniel

Duryea. Cordy. Daniel
Crozier Keath. Williams
Dale. Libba. Smith
Richards Bruce. Hunter
Weightman Naughts McLean
English. Bont. McRae

Dunkley JUH Garcia. JJ

JUH on the bench allows us to play tall all game.

Young, Hannan and unfortunately Wallis add nothing to the team so no point trying to get something out of them this late in a season.

I’m not sure what we can expect from a kid whose yet to find his feet at the level yet we throw him back forward and through the ruck literally changing positions 4 times a quarter. I thought Lewy showed a bit tbh was far from our worse. With Martin out he has to stay hopefully JUH stays Naughty comes back and Young only has to play back/ruck at least

In: Dunks, Astro, McClean, McNeil
Out: Wallis, Bruce, JJ, Scott

Bruce needs a spell. He has been fairly ordinary for a few weeks and I worry when he gets involved outside of F50. No real game sense, poor hands in close and gives away free kicks too often. Would love to see JUH play with Astro. Not likely to happen, but putting it out there.

Naughton for Wallis
Dunkley for Scott

I'd possibly also swap in McNeil for JJ.

A lot of the team is a bit flat at the minute, I suspect a consequence of getting up for the Perth-Geelong-Perth run and foregoing our mid-season break.

Hannan and Weightman are our only two crumbing/pressure forwards atm. Don’t think we can go into finals with just two kids in that role in McNeil and Weightman. JJ (particularly) and Scott aren’t those type of forwards. VDM yes, but unsighted for months. McLean possibly, but he's laboured in that role in the past and is coming off an ACL.

Dunkley’s return pushes Smith/Daniel out to a wing again and Hunter goes back to his more HF focused role from earlier in the year, at Scott’s expense. The out may well be Hannan, as there's a group at half forward that you can throw a blanket over, but that’s just not how I’d go. Appreciate I'm in the minority on that one.

Mate, that is a joke. The guy is third in the Coleman and has had a great season.

I think you need the spell.

Young looked surprisingly capable in the ruck and Bevo likes to give debutantes a good run. I reckon Marra and Young will stay in. I'd drop Wallis and Hannan for Dunkley and Naughts, but that might leave us a bit top heavy.
From the eye test without any statistics (there is one of our supporters that puts that out) I thought Lewy had a better hitout % to advantage than Timmy.
Timmy has disappointed me lately, he hasn't worked to his strengths.
He should if ran goldy off the park, but the last 2 weeks he has tried and failed to body both rucks.
Lewy had been using his strenghts which is to out jump them.

I’m a believer in giving JUH another week, particularly with the experience of travelling interstate with the team

Agree, if you bring someone in it should be for a couple of games. The difference between VFL and AFL is just that massive.
Ask Monica and Schache

Bevo's mantra is team flexibility, I literally can't recall one player getting thrown around into so many different positions in 1 game. Not many senior's can handle that many changes.
For the the coin he's on, his back up ruck work and that goal he kicked put a few a high paying players to shame, the kid has to get a run of games.

I'm hoping to be there as well, but with my 2nd covid shot on Friday i don't know how well I'll be up and about.

I’ve had both of mine with no side effects. Maybe a mild headache with the second one but it could just have easily been our 6 year old that brought that on..... 👍. Good luck!
