Ginbey is not a middling talent like Brad Sheppard said he is a 200 gamerSo we've done a bit of risk management and decided that two middling talents is preferable to one elite talent (based on phantom drafts etc) because we're scared the elite talent will run home to Mummy?
We're cowards, and the players are sooks and I'm melting.
I beg to differ.
He certainly did have opportunities to win the game for Claremont.
I was there watching it and he was disappointing when he needed to kick the important goals…..he didn’t …. Being able to handle pressure moments is required from an AFL KPF.
I don’t know who you heard that he would have won the Simpson Medal had Claremont won, but IMO his game was several levels lower in importance than what Bolton put in.
I have no objection to him being offered a train on spot, I just don’t think that he will make it…. I would be thrilled for him if he proves me wrong.
I think it broke Lore's brain. Give it a minuteTime to update the pinned post
He is second to third round selection.
His results at the state combine this friday will determine where he ends up.
He is seriously talented and been greatly undervalued.
I know WCE have interviewed him a lot
If we want Darcy Jones, his performance at the combine might mean we need pick 20. He might even bolt higher so we don't get that chance. I did not expect this; I thought his size would hold him back to pick 40+.Pretty strong Draft hand. Who are we all hoping for?
Pick 8 Ginbey/MacKenzie/Clark
Pick 12 Hewett
Pick 20 no idea
Pick 26 no idea

Smith also has the old fashioned backman hard arse approach to his game. Similar approach to MaynardHe is second to third round selection.

I highly doubt Phillipou will be drafted by eagles.Does anyone seriously expect the Pie Man to draft someone like The Poo?
It'll be uber conservative.
Based on anything specific? Or just that we’re going local with all the picks?I highly doubt Phillipou will be drafted by eagles.
Reid and Ginbey are dual position so handy. We need to finish last imo to get Reid.Bussi!!!!
Seriously if we get pick 1 next year we get reid
We cant fit Chesser Culley Hewitt Ginbey reid
I can't see us picking Phillipou, only based on gut feel.Based on anything specific? Or just that we’re going local with all the picks?
I highly doubt Phillipou will be drafted by eagles.
JHF wasn't loyal. Neither was Rankine. I highly doubt eagles take Phillipou for some reason. If we miss Ginbey at 8 then we may go busslinger or if one of the top 6 slide but I can't see Phillipou and I doubt Phillipou is there at 12 and even if he is I actually think eagles would pick Hewett ahead of him. It will take a fair bit for eagles to pass up a local.mm
SA players are almost local and loyal so keep a open mind ..
JHF wasn't loyal. Neither was Rankine.
True correct but I was more referring to WCE SA draftees ..
Ebert and Lycett.
One of the best phantoms I've ever seen. Great top 20, thanks for your time and effort. You deserve credit for this.I imagine that, once the Bowes trade wraps up and the Lobb trade falls apart, there'll be no more first-round picks traded in and out. So I thought I'd have a crack at a first-round Phantom Draft:
Pick 1. Will Ashcroft (Brisbane Lions)
Pick 2. Aaron Cadman (GWS Giants)
Pick 3. George Wardlaw (North Melbourne)
Pick 4. Elijah Tsatas (North Melbourne)
Pick 5. Harry Sheezel (Essendon)
Pick 6. Oliver Hollands (Gold Coast)
Pick 7. Cam Mackenzie (Hawthorn)
Pick 8. Jhye Clark (Geelong)
Pick 9. Reuben Ginbey (West Coast)
Pick 10. Jedd Busslinger (St Kilda)
Pick 11. Bailey Humphrey (Carlton)
Pick 12. Mattaes Phillipou (Western Bulldogs)
Pick 13. Elijah Hewett (West Coast)
Pick 14. Matthew Jefferson (Melbourne)
Pick 15. Alwyn Davey Jr (Essendon)
Pick 16. Olli Hotton (Sydney Swans)
Pick 17. Max Gruzewski (GWS Giants)
Pick 18. Brayden George (Collingwood)
Pick 19. Henry Hustwaite (Sydney Swans)
Pick 20. Jacob Konstanty (GWS Giants)
