The lower picks do look better here. I guess I'm mostly disappointed in the pick split as I was sold on Wardlaw and now he will never wear a west coast jumper. Wardlaw looked levels above Ginbey and Hewett. I can't help but think we will regret the decision. Wardlaw looked special to me and if his hammies hold up we will deeply regret this rotten trade. I think he is a good chance to be the best player in the draft.Cos i was bored and someone had to....last 20 drafts

Humphrey and Phillipou both have more potential, don’t stressThe lower picks do look better here. Surprise not to see Cadman‘s name ?Ed Allan has grown on me. His breakaway speed and agility seem to stand out for someone his size. Not sure where he goes in the draft but would say the way Twomey is talking him up he'd be in contention for our 3rd pick as Cal seems to have some inside knowledge when he makes his rankings. Burgiel is the other one that I really want with our 3rd or 4th pick. I can see the Pieman jumping on Hewett at our 1st as he'll be worried he won't be there at our 2nd but Ginbey seems a more rounded proposition. .
Locally Darcy Jones would have to be a candidate for our 4th Pick with Steely Green an outside chance. Tyrell Dewar our NGA could be taken as a Rookie.

Then another very good option slides to us - like Clark or Hollands or McKenzieYou know if Ginbey gets hyped enough at this combine I wouldn't be surprised if Geelong picked him. They screwed us on tim Kelly and they like big mids.
Barely gets off the ground when compared to spring heeled Darcy Jones.Surprise not to see Cadman‘s name ?
He might not be agile but at least he should be able to jump.
Half back flankers with midfield potential?I'm hoping like hell we look for versatility this draft. Guys who can play more than one position so we can get more on field midfield rotations.
He is a more natural footballer than Petruccelle.
You reckon.
Some Darcy Jones highlights if it hasn't already been posted:

mm
0.30 s mark centre clearance Broadbent taps down to Ginbey handballs to Jones .. smooth
He looks like a fitter, faster rioli/ryan hybrid i hope we get him tooJones just looks a natural footballer, I really hope we take him come draft time.
Ed AllenSome really interesting combine results.
Obviously Ginbey has already been mentioned (4th in vertical jump, 8th in running jump, 7th in 20m sprints and 5th in 2km time trial).
Darcy Jones
I know that Darcy Jones has also been mentioned, but quite remarkable what he has achieved over the weekend.
First in agility of course (7.702 seconds), far faster than 2nd place.
Also first in vertical jump (75cm) and 5th in running jump (87cm). These results are astounding given his short statute.
He also came 5th (2.912 seconds) in the 20m sprint with the only test he didn't get top 10 on was the 2km time trial.
It cannot be understated how much more athletic and explosive he projects to be than his other 5 foot 9 inch (or sub-6 foot for that matter) counterparts.
Mattaes Phillipou
Some good results for Phillipou finishing equal 9th in the 2km time trial (6 minutes 25 seconds) and equal 5th (with Jones) in the running vertical jump (87cm). Was not suprised with his jumping, was suprised how well he ran the 2km.
Elijah Hewett
Everyone's favourite around here also seems to have tested well across the board.
Equal 4th in the vertical jump (70 cm) and 3rd in the agility (8.217 seconds).
Good to see as I always felt like Hewett's shortcoming might have been his athleticism, however, that does not appear to be the case.
Would be great to see what he ran the 2km time trial in.
A couple of others who performed well included Van Es (2nd in vertical jump, 1st in running jump and 4th in 20m sprints), Weddle (8th in vertical jump, 2nd in running vertical jump, 9th in 20m sprints and 4th in 2km time trial), Binns (2nd in agility and 3rd in 2km time trial) and Konstanty (7th in vertical jump and 8th in agility). I don't think these are necessarily players we're likely to consider (although maybe we select Weddle in the late 20s-early 30s if we think we need another future key defender, who knows).
so we play the out of positioin- the terrorI'm hoping like hell we look for versatility this draft. Guys who can play more than one position so we can get more on field midfield rotations.
How did he compete in the U18 nationals?Jones just looks a natural footballer, I really hope we take him come draft time.
Maybe your right friend.Humphrey and Phillipou both have more potential, don’t stress
Midfielders are like Pokemon. You've got to get them all.Bussi!!!!
Seriously if we get pick 1 next year we get reid
We cant fit Chesser Culley Hewitt Ginbey reid
At ~198CM you don't need to be top 10 in vertical jump. You already have a massive standing reach advantage over those short people who are top 10. Just need to have a decent vertical, doesn't need to be crazy (Nic Nat was a freak in that he was ~200cm with a crazy vert)Surprise not to see Cadman‘s name ?
He might not be agile but at least he should be able to jump.
