How are the Cats getting Reid or Butters? Clubs will take the punt with those two and not let you pull the usual disgruntled player, low ball swifty.Never wanted him and thankful he's remaining at Melbourne.
You watch him deteriorate into a shadow of the player he was in his early 20's.
Cats will focus on Butters and Reid in the coming 12-18 months instead
Worse luck, you’re stuck with him. Bet he won’t play out the yearBad luck Cats w***ers, see you next year
The Chris Scott news proves my point. You shovel money to all your staff through third party deals. It’s obvious to anyoneGet told all year our list is shit but now it flips to they are all stars who must be on millions
Make up your bloody mind
if he's clean and motivated, back to being the best mid in the comp. it's one or the other, imo. A massive pre-season is due, but we'll know based on the condition he arrives at on day 1 of pre-season.

if he was mentally shot why were/are you guys frothing over getting him to your club? He's mentally shot and his peers know it too.
He will still put up solid stats but he will be far from the player he was a couple of years ago.

You very well may be right. But I think it's far too premature. He's a champion of the game. And he's been one of the most professional and dedicated trainers for many years. You don't get to his level without being dedicated. He's not a Dane Swan sort of operator. He's definitely been going through some stuff but if he drops the 7 or 8kg that he needs to lose, then he's automatic starting AA midfielder.
Bailey Smith is a far bigger risk personally. But Oliver is on so much money so that makes it risky too.
lol. you're not going to get Oliver for a packet of chips. That's very naive. You were either going to be paying the majority of his expensive contract or paying up in draft picks. You gave up a first rounder for Bailey Smith and he carries the same amount of risk given his off field behaviours but has never come close to reaching the heights of Oliver so no idea where you got this 'packet of chips' idea.If we were able to get him for what was reported (packet of chips) then even if he managed worse than this year's performances, he would still be our third best midfielder, ahead of Bowes & Atkins.
I see he's back to promoting alcohol consumption on Instagram

Oliver has been one of the best trainers for many years. Don't let recency bias cloud your judgement.Bailey's dedication to fitness is miles better than Oliver's. He makes Oliver look like George Rose in comparison.
Oliver: 3 x AA's, 4 x Bnf's, 2 x AFL Coaches Awards.Bailey Smith is 23 and a compulsive fitness fanatic. The ACL is a risk but in terms of potential, I think he has much more upside in the coming years than Oliver.
He's been a champion the past five years but he peaked early and now has to try and recapture form in a midfield which is fading away.
Opposition won't worry about him anymore.
you could be right. but then why would you want him? Like, if he doesnt perform, you wouldn't want him. If he does perform, he'll cost you multiple firsts and 1.3m. So either way, your statement falls through. Not yet
