And history shows he played all 22 games in Season 2019 after his successful groin surgery....that's 22 of a possible 22. Who's fault was that?

You have a bizarre view at times

Drafted in 2011
8 years on the list for a possible 176 games, not including finals
Has played 83 games in total
Even when you apply some discount in his first year as a draftee, the only year you pluck out of the air is 2019.

Are you trying to suggest Brad is durable with those stats. One year out of 8 doesn't make him superman.

As you would know groin injury/issue hasn't been his only problem, but lets avoid the facts and concentrate on season 2019.

He was drafted in late 2011 from the mini-draft but was not permitted to Play in the AFL until the 2013 season. Also 2015 and 2018 extended time off due to Medical mistakes,
Yes he had some injuries but he also had some bad luck with the decision others made. I would say around 40+ games due to the incompetence of others.

A year where he played the 22 games possible, a clear winner of the B & F, our leading Brownlow vote getter and our clear leader in the AFL Coaches Award. That suggests to me he's finally in control of his past injury issues and it's onwards and upwards.

Sure. he played all 22 games, he was our B&F winner, polled the most Brownlow votes, leader in the coaches award......all facts. All good for him and for the club but 1 out of 8 years does not make him a durable player.
Is he in control of his injuries, maybe, maybe you are right but a few more years to go under the bridge before that call is made.

Regardless, my comment was about his durability and right here and now the jury is still out.

And?? You still require your body to break down in order for someone to stuff up your rehab.

Wasn't Brads foot stood on by a port player? Also when he finally came back for the foot injury in 2017 he looked to me to be running flat footed, could a change in running style affect the groin?

True, but if they’d nipped it in the bud in 2017 when it first reared it’s head it might have just been a few weeks on the sidelines. Instead, they jabbed him so he could get through the season, no doubt causing further damage which preceded Burto’s complete management **** up.

That stuff up was one of a few, His Ankle was handled poorly as well.
And I will admit when the Club changed the structure of the Fitness and Medical dept to go under one roof I was supported of it, However, History has shown Us it did not help.

I’d suggest that the structure could work, but nothing works under Burto.

Just in from the tiser Brad Crouch
"Adelaide star Brad Crouch has restarted contract discussions with the club ahead of season 2020, as he looks to ink a multimillion-dollar deal that will keep him at the Crows for at least another five years."

"Brad Crouch has reopened contract negotiations with Adelaide, reinforcing his commitment to be a one-club player under Matthew Nicks – but at a fair market price."

Brad is overrated, he was good last yr and got himself a bnf in a year that was a train wreck with many players having a poor season.
Great he's injury free at the moment so no excuses go earn your big secure contract by WINNING us games not by performing well in losses.

Will be a huge signing for us..looks like the culture is shifting already with brown, milera and hopefully brad signing on. Make no mistake if we get this right it hopefully sets the tone for the younger ones to sign extensions and that is a key pillar how you start building for long term success

Yep. You don't get better by trading your best players so you can get other good players. You get better by keeping the good ones and getting more of them

So was this a case of Brouch shopping himself around after other parties were unwilling to sign him for a mill a year?????
He didn't (and doesn't from last I heard) want to leave, but was very aware of his injury history. If he got a massive 7 figure a year offer before he was out of contract then he would take it because another bum year of injuries is going to absolutely kill his value. Supposedly he was only making $400-$450K a year on his last contract, so he is looking to maximize his value on his next contract, both in years and $ per. Given the fact Brad has never put two consistent years together he is taking a massive risk in what will likely be his last chance to earn huge money. The fact he's opened up negotiations with the club again would be a sign that we might be willing to give him (what he thinks is) a fair deal and that other teams aren't going to break the bank for him (and with the amount of picks GC had this draft and next I don't think they'd have much interest in paying out the ass for him anymore).

It's fun for the media to portray it the way they did because it draws clicks to paint the club as a basket case, considering we supplied the paint and the brushes as well, it wasn't hard to do or cost any credibility on the media's part.

I like the idea of Brad getting $750k a year for 5.

I think that suits both parties.

I dont. Well not for 5

But thats more my conservative nature around contracts rather than any feel about his injury future or further 'break contract' offers

3 years at $750 and KPI triggers for the other 2 based mainly around games played

Would be crazy to offer a straight out 5 year deal to a player who can't play 2 seasons in a row.

I can see our club doing it though as a way to ram the "culture change" down our throats.
