Kern to get through to the Prelim, port will then re-sign him for another 3 years, lose the prelim of course.

Had deep dive into Steven King cv. He has been apart of loser clubs alot of his tenure.

The most alarming part is he was part of GCS and was passed over as head coach of Gold Coast...

He was also part of St Kilda and Western Bulldogs.

So St Kilda, Western Bulldogs and GCS is hardly a ringing endorsement. I don't trust his fluke wb cup

I mean his only time when he wasn't apart of loser club is his 2024 season with cats. He's only been there for less then 1 year. Deeply ingrained in loser culture

By deep dive you do mean a Wikipedia glance?

He helped the Dogs to 2 GFs/1 flag.

Didn't the Saints make the GF when he was there also?

Now having great success with the Cats.

Seems a very strange reading of his CV.

I doubt the best coach in the comp would want a senior assistant who is 'deeply ingrained in loser culture.' If he's good enough for Chris Scott, he's good enough for me.

I dont think you can finish top 2 and lose a QF to the travelling team by 80+ points unless something is going on behind the scenes that affects how the playing group plays. I wonder if Hinkley hinted at leaving the club (sacked or poached by us potentially) and it reflected in the game. My understanding is most players at Port love him. Geez I wonder if he really might be our coach next season. Reckon Port are cooked this week.

Haven't watched any of the other recent finals he's 'coached'?

I have heard that Kerns Nards would make the job easy... sounds like a good match.

I'm all for Hinkley coaching us to become a finals team and then handing over the job instantly, no doubting he can build a team.

Imagine the Port melts if Hinkley came here, built a competitive finals bound team, then actually went the next step and won finals AND A FLAG with us. Port supporters have an unnatural hate of the Eagles as it is, they may actually surpass Fremantle supporters if this happened.

**** it, bring Hinkley over.

Ross Lyon likes this

If a team beat us after the siren at home twice in a row, including an Elimination Final, my hatred would run deep too.

Hardwick was all but appointed before he'd even started as caretaker. Seems an incredibly harsh criticism

“Deeply ingrained in loser culture. The only time he wasn’t a_part of loser club is this season. I’m ignoring the 2016 premiership though because it doesn’t suit my argument. And the other Grand Final the Bulldogs made in his time there. And the grand finals the Saints made in his time there…”

If we are going to appoint a current senior coach then it should only be a successful senior coach. This rules out Ken Hinkley in my opinion.
If we are going to appoint an untried senior coach then you appoint the best credential one out there. That to me is Schofield.

If we are the pro club I like to think we are then appointing Hinkley would be us now saying second or third best is ok. He has had some seriously talented lists and to not win a flag means there is just something missing there.
