Really excited about the Greenwood trade.
It can go 2 ways.
Get LaVerde at 5 along with Greenwood in the short term.
Have Scharenberg (6), Freeman (10) & LaVerde (5) to build the midfield in 2 years.
Or we could get Peter Wright at 5 and have Darcy Moore (9) and have 2 of the best KPF's in one draft like Franklin/Roughead in 2004.
I would be envious to seeing that as a St. Kilda supporter.

Thought Darcy was a key back?

Im more than happy with Billings Dunstan Petracca to build an elite mid field around.

How do you know how much expertise I have in rating players? I myself may be involved at TAC Level you dont know either way. I would suggest if Moore had a different surname he'd have fallen outside the first 15 . Figures dont lie 15 goals as your side key forward in the TAC is a poor return for years work.

As for Riewoldt the reason is first season was slow stat wise is he was injured until at least mid year.

You are hopelessly biased, at least 2 teams thought he was worth a top 10 pick and I'd suggest they are professional enough not to be swayed much by his last name. Stats often do lie actually, especially when a player doesn't stay in one position for the whole season.

Why didnt he stay at CHF or FF thats the question that has to be asked.

15 goals from 15 games suggest he only just.

I'm no draft expert myself so I'll bow to those with superior knowledge.
Hamish Oligive, Simon Dayrimple & Stephen Wells are on public record that young Darcy is either a 1, 2 or 3 pick in an open draft.

Scharenberg won't be a midfielder.

Yes because they dont have to or wouldnt pick him. No one at TAC AND u/18 LEVEL honestly believes thats any more than fluff for attention.

A few posts ago you were implying that you "may be involved at TAC level" (put up or shut up!)
Now you post a rash generalisation that you can puport to know the beliefs of the entire TAC and U18 level competition!
What a knob! :p

The pies spin doctor's have got to him already, in plain speak he's saying he won't get a game at Geelong but will at the Pies.
Not spin if they truly believe what they are telling him. Right or wrong in your eyes, the Pies think they have the plan to contend sooner rather than later. Call it delusional, call it what you will.
I heard Pelchen on the radio talking about where the Saints are at in relation to Hawthorn in 04, 05. Said they were in a similar position. Did I think spin? No. So when the Saints have had a chat to Petracca or anyone else, was it a bit of this?
Saints: Mate we are shit, and we're going to be shit and everything has to go to plan if we're not going to be shit after 3 years. What do you reckon?
Petracca: how can I be excited about that?
Anything else is spinning?

Varcoe says flag more likely for Pies than Cats in next few years

Herald Sun -
TRAVIS Varcoe wants to win a third
premiership — and believes the greater
security Collingwood has offered could give him a better chance than if he had
remained at Geelong.

The creative utility revealed on Wednesday he feared the Cats might eventually turn to their younger brigade
at his expense and the Magpies had “blown everyone out of the park” as he meticulously researched potential second home.

Great stuff

Sounds like sour grapes cos he left

I call it a variation of the Groucho Marx theory, if you're bringing in Varcoe you're not contending sooner.

The middle age types the Pies have been bringing in lately have been horrible. Any contending comes when they're forced out.

But I was merely commenting on the spin.

Pelchen thread is next door, join the Pie hordes in there.

Oh well, I suppose it can't always be like 2009 eh Falchoon?!
Pies brought in Luke Ball and Darren Jolly whilst the Saints added Brett Peake and Andrew Lovett!!!

In fairness the Pies "middle aged" recruits were back-up players who were worth rolling the dice on. Russell, Lynch etc
Varcoe is different as he is a player still in good form and could be expected to be in the Pies best 22.

Read the article.

Couldn't gain access to it on the website but I have watched a couple of videos (one from the AFL and one from Collingwood) that I believe the Sun probably got the information from. You're speaking a half-truth. Yes, he did mention that he believes that he'll get the position he wants at Collingwood (in and under feeding the ball out) and he felt like he was getting pushed out. He speaks like a man who believes that North underutilised him rather than him thinking that he couldn't cut it there, an equal second-place finish in the B+F justifies that mindset I think. Also, he did mention that the 4 year contract put in front of him by Collingwood was a factor also. Quite simply, Collingwood seem to rate him more than North do, time will tell which party was right.

No doubt they haven't been much chop but I'll revisit your post half way through next year regarding Varcoe.
Couldn't give a rats arse about the name of the person who was speaking on the radio, he just happened to be speaking about St Kildas list and I don't believe it was spin. Why would I join the pie hordes in a thread about Pelchen?

Anyhow, what do you think the Pies said to Varcoe to get him over the line?

Hmmm isn't Eade in that job that many saw as largely pointless when Malthouse turned it down (or broke his contract if I recall correctly)? I think I recall the conversations going something like this:

Collingwood supporters - "Malthouse signed a 5 year contract in 2009. Senior coach in 2010 & 2011 and director of coaching from 2012-2014. We didn't push him out, he walked out"
Opposition supporters - "He should have been kept on as senior coach. Collingwood shouldn't have kicked him out after 2011, Collingwood's best year ever."
Collingwood supporters - "No, he had a contract until the end of 2014 as director of coaching"
Opposition supporters - "Oh, well everybody knows that he really wanted to stay on as senior coach. What's this director of coaching position? Just sounds like a pointless crap position to get Buckley in and keep Mick around anyway. It's so disrespectful to their premiership winning coach to demote him below Buckley like that. Collingwood stuffed up etc etc etc"

Now losing Eade from his "pointless" position is going to be a huge blow for the club. The hypocrisy on this site never gets old.

Eade has good experience in regards to coaching and tactics.
But he doesn't do that anymore.
He deals with contracts, TPP & other football admin issues.
In that regard, he is a novice.

You should have kept Malthouse as coach that is a given. Eade obviously has a role that is important and is clearly a sought after person in the AFL.
