The problem is how do we get him
Larkey's contract with North expires at the end of the 2024 season. Presumably clubs will be sounding his management out now, encouraging him to forgo signing an extension and outlining their plans for him.

For us, we'd want to be presenting him with a succession plan and clear role, as well as outlining numerous commercial endorsements and opportunities he could take advantage of.

Now you’re talking. The sell from us compared to North should be pretty compelling.

We should throw him a big fishing line with some very enticing bait on it

Unlike McLure I assume HH would be a defensive play unless future planning for life after Mihocek (it’d be a 5-6 year deal).
Howe is near the end, Murphy’s undersized and Frampton is still unproven. His footskills are the equal of Moore so it would be an exciting move from my perspective. Less convinced though if it’s as a fwd.

Edit: a further quick observation from me is if you want us to invest in talls on draft night this is a bad article for you. IMO, it further highlights an intent on our behalf to invest in talls of a known quantity.
It’s better than not investing in them at all I guess

Interestingly, Cam Zurhaar is also out of contract at the end of 2024. Him and Larkey I think are housemates, or very close. Doubt that we'd be able to afford both, but I've always been impressed with Zurhaar's skillset, even if he is a little inconsistent (although he is only 25 years old).

Zurhaar is really good mates with Bruzzy too

I like Zurhaar. He and Larkey would make a nice pair in black and white.

I really rate him, I know a lot of others don't but he would be perfect for us. He is probably the best swingman in the comp. His versatility is exactly what fly would want.
Rate him!!, he would be my number 1 target - the kid is a gun and yes the ultimate swingman. If we can land him it would be huge for us

We never highlight the commercial endorsements well enough in our negotiations. Eg. why would you play for GWS or North in front of 8,000-40,000 fans screaming your name when you can have, at a bare minimum 50,000+ at the G twice a year? That's 50,000 people who'll be more likely to show up and promote your personal image. It makes such good sense to play for us. And then there's the merch, social media deals, etc that can follow. Hard to see North Melbourne's stars getting a huge turnout when they visit people regardless of their talent.

We, the supporters, probably don't know what the club & the players' managers highlight in negotiations. I'm sure those things you mentioned are a big part of it.

Zurhaar is alright but he's a bit hot-headed. Larkey is the one I'd be after. I don't know why North is as bad as they are with the list they have - it's not too shabby.
They have played extremely well in the past 3 weeks, it's only bad luck & a few dodgy umpiring decisions that they didn't win against Swans & Bombers.

HH is going cost a fortune would rather spend that on a proven forward like Larkey.

Would move McStay down back if needed.

Larkey
Mihocek
Hill
McCreery
Elliott
Cox/Lip/DeGoey/Adams/WHE

It wasn't really touched on in Stan's Show Me the Money but I do know cars, jobs for partners, houses and post-career options are common carrots.

Was he really a swingman? I thought GWS switched him down back because he was stinking it up, up forward.

All players know the crowd Collingwood get, not to mention being in 2 of the best matches of the year, Anzac Day & Kings Birthday.
I know but how many really can comprehend it? It's the closest you can get to that Grand Final atmosphere without being in a Grand Final.

I didn't want to over do it but you know I really want him. he's a gun and I don't care what the other so called experts say
