A 'key' what?

Btw, I loved Frampton's game on Andrews.

Still not sure how/why you're rating Reef so much higher than AJ then.

Andrews had Big Influence in last qtr and Frampton did Stuff All except drop a lot of Marks

He kept Andrews out of the game for 3 quarters. Frampton also spent time on the bench in the last. And as many have said, it's extremely difficult to keep a quality player quiet for a whole game. He played his role & he played it well.

You're confusing different situations (Ginni & Bailey were filmed, not tested), Rioli tampered with his urine sample.

As for Smith's likely suspension, WADA (ASADA, Sport Integrity etc) downgraded the sanctions in 2021 for positive illicit/recreational drug use. So Smith will get nothing like the bans Murray, Keeffe, Thomas etc received.

Smith will most likely get 3 months, served over the pre season & available to play from round 1 2024.

Give up mate, he's been told a few times.

Yep. Except Keeffe and Thomas would still get a long suspension as their party drugs had been cut with performance enhancing drugs.

We still won't have a Proper AFL Ready Ruck as Backup

Didn’t have one this year either. I’d rather continue the development path with Steene and begg and short term Frampton and mcstay and others can chip in part time. Lycett is a waste of a spot. Mid year draft if we get a long term injury.

It’s the same lame argument we had mid year about Naismith.

Gabelich reporting we have re-signed Begg, Carmichael and Kreuger.

Will Kelly has been delisted but we're open to train-on spot during SSP (please no).

I'm pleased these three have been given another year.
We've put a fair bit of time into Begg, and he's starting to show something, but still raw.
Kreuger has talent, but needs to get through the year without being injured.
Carmichael needs to develop his disposal skills & endurance.
They could all be gone this time next year if they don't address their issues.

In other list management news, Will Kelly has been informed he will not receive a contract with the Club.

The 23-year-old was drafted as a father-son selection in the 2018 AFL National Draft and has made five appearances at AFL level since his debut in 2020.

Across his five seasons with the Club, Kelly was an instrumental part of the Club's VFL program. This year, across 15 games, he averaged 15 disposals and booted five goals.

Kelly was a key cog in the side's 2023 finals campaign, where he played a VFL career-best in the side's Round 19 victory against Carlton. The midfielder managed 22 disposals and kicked three goals.

The Club will explore the option for Kelly to train with the AFL program during the 2024 AFL's Supplementary Selection Period (SSP).

Collingwood GM of Football Graham Wright thanked Kelly for his contribution to the Club.

"We thank Will for all that he has put in across five seasons with the Club," Wright said.

"Unfortunately for Will, he has faced injury challenges that have kept him out of the AFL side, but his strong willpower and ability to develop through our VFL program should be commended.

"We have informed Will we will consider adding him as a train-on player over the pre-season if we have SSP spots available following the completion of the draft process in November."

As it stands, Collingwood holds picks 19, 33, and 80 in the upcoming 2023 AFL National Draft.

It's the same situation as Sam Murray. He'll be out for some time.

The difference is Reef will have opportunity next year. AJ will have less. I believe the club rates him ahead of AJ. Therefore, I expect him to play for some time.
The rules have changed. If he can prove it was recreational it will be 3 months.
