I get the feeling Begg is going to be playing as a KPD next year in the VFL. I believe he was playing there in match sim during the finals and perhaps explains the Lycett interest. It would mean we would have the below 3 as KPD depth:

Frampton / Dean / Begg
That’s apparently the plan. Begg’s future as a ruck is limited so they’ll trial him as a defender for one more shot at it to see whether we retain him at the end of 2024.

Don't know. I was thinking 3 in the draft. 2 blokes to added from guys who train with us over summer?
We would be better going this way as other than the first 2 picks it's probably not worth us taking a speculative pick. I wouldn't be surprised if we add 2 SSP players this year to keep us in the window

Was our interest in Lycett just passing or are we actually into him.
I don't see a problem if he is just filling a vacant spot for a year to see if he can fill that ruck back up role. You never know, he may surprise and regain his best form at the pies.

I think it's real but he doesn't know himself if he wants to go on

So this whole time the Pies supporter was yelling out to Sniffy “are you flipping joining us or naa kent?!”

I’d imagine that players invited to train over summer in hope of a lifeline still get paid - even if it’s minimum chips for work cover reasons.

So I’m guessing Will Kelly training with us is a bit like dad getting you a summer holiday job at his office.

Rumour that Murphy has pulled the pin.

No medical panel is going to assess a bloke, having had ten concussions, and say “all good in your noggin, crack on, son!”

Once he sought to consult the panel, the writing was on the wall, sadly.

It’s really not good for the AFL to have two sides granted access to the sweep of talent across QLD and then into NT in the case of GC. You want it spread throughout the league.

IMO, the AFL and ALL clubs should run the northern academies with players supported to realise their dreams rather than gifted to clubs.
Yeah the principle is not good, But means less homesick players. More than ever we are seeing players want to go home to their home state. Pies should be doing their homework on any inter state boys to make sure we don't get another waste of 2 years in ollie henry. I wouldnt be mad if we only picked from victoria from now on.

Except Ollie is from just down the road.
He was picked on talent, but just wanted to go all the way home to Geelong.
