It doesn't exist, I'd say mainly so the AFL can ensure struggling clubs (like Melbourne when they lost Frawley) get Band 1 when a good club raids them.

There are supposedly a few factors though; player age (Perryman is a rare UFA due to December birthday which works in GWS' favour), contract length, contract value.

I wasn't actually making a statement, I was asking a question of NS.

I know we don't know, I was simply asking a hypothetical - he stated if we did know, we would have kept our F1 - my q then was, well, if we were faced with that possibility, would we have done the trade as it was and just locked in the player we knew we could get OR not done trade if F1 had to be included OR found another way to facilitate trade?
I was interested to hear what his thought were on that.
We still don't know if that pick would have made the Dees trade Petracca.

They’ve stuffed up top 10 picks before so pressure is really on them to nail those 2 picks now.

Im looking forward to them picking 2 duds and having their supporters laud them for it. Again.

Nick Haynes joining the Blues & SDK will end up at the Blues next year.

I’m keen on Lewis Young for a cheap KPD. We will likely lose Howe, and Eyre, Frampton & Dean are likely on their last contract if they’re not great next year.

So if Perryman, Mitchell and Allan are all in our Best 23 for Round1 next year, which regular player(s) from this season is most likely to be squeezed out and playing VFL in 2025? Lippa?
From R24 team

Noble won’t be there
Richards probably won’t be tgere
Macrae won’t be there

JDG in
Mitchell in
Perryman in

Dean questionable

The difference will be something along the lines of pick 15 versus pick 22.
I think I read that Perryman being younger, means that GWS are more likely to get the Band 1 pick than St Kilda with Battle. That is assuming they are both being paid about the same amount.
