What does making a stand mean?

Any trade needs to be mutually beneficial or it wont happen.

By getting a fair deal. All trades will always be compared to the other movements in the market. We can’t keep paying overs and getting unders

What does making a stand mean?

What it means is that some people think that if we don't negotiate a trade that's entirely beneficial to us, in the following years other clubs will annex Collingwood FC like it's Austria in 1938. Just like how Fitzroy was captured by Brisbane when the gave up Stephen Paxman without a fight. So we can either let a player go for unders or next year we'll be officially known as the Geelong Catpies. The future of the club is stake.
