They remain without a pick until selection No.52 in this year’s national draft, which recruiters rate as a strong one. That pick 52 will come up the draft board to be somewhere in the 40s after father-son and academy bids absorb other clubs’ picks.

The Magpies also traded out their future first pick for Lachie Schultz during last year’s trade period. They are likely to have access to father-son prospect Tom McGuane at the end of 2025, however, and are considering bringing in Tim Membrey – who is yet to re-sign with St Kilda – as well as delisted Saint Jack Hayes to the club. They re-signed veterans Scott Pendlebury, Jeremy Howe and Steele Sidebottom for 2025.

We are like a problem gambler putting our paycheque through the poker machines on pay day. The player we get in the 50’s would want to turn out like Josh Daicos or Dane Swan to get some balance in the deal
This board has had a lot of muppets over the years, but by god do you take the cake.

Over the last 3 trade periods we've added, Houston, Hill, Titch, Perryman, Schultz, McStay,

Keep this up and there is no cliff coming.
Yes there is, just ask the Carlton flog on the Houston thread on the trade board.

Us getting in ready made players to replace our ageing stars is not even close to the amazing strategy of selling the farm for pick 3!

Serious Lets Go GIF by Step

Membrey

Membrey

Membrey
Why do you want him? Who is he replacing in our forward line?
If he wants regular AFL games, Membrey would be better advised going to North or Richmond.
(I suspect the Saints will re-list him.)

The next Paddy Dow will be worth it in the end

Wow 70 pages later since I checked the thread before work this morning!
Welcome Dan Houston 😀

First line “Collingwood have gone all in on winning next year’s flag”

No we haven’t.

Ghee you’re really not overly excited about getting a gun into the club are you? We didn’t have a pick in this years draft and you rate Mcguane, so next years would be used on him if how you view him is correct. We have got a ready-made gun, move on from your draft obsession.

Err it seems she’s just quoting the media

We haven’t though. All in would mean that’s it. We’ve added Perryman who’s 25 and Houston has a good 6 years left. It’s hyperbole and a standard bs media article
Yep that’s true and the players traded out were more or less the same age… although the entire list is a year older now and we might only draft one or two 18 year olds so the average age will be higher than last year. Especially if we add membrey and Tomlinson.

All in is a pretty subjective term… we are much closer to the all in end of the spectrum than rebuild.

If we dont plan on trading up, may as well trade those picks and bring in someone like dev robertson.
If what the article states is true, that we plan on bringing both membrey and hayes , have to think kreuger is on the way out.
